New rooms are nicely renovated
Close to MRT
Taxi rank right outside - central to everything
Staff were great
Bell staff were terrible, didn't assist with the luggage and took forever to come to assist from the room. Renovations were noisy, lifts were very slow, damp smell in first room from bathroom and clogged shower drain!
Over all it was a pleasant experience after we changed rooms on the 2nd night. Reception staff were very helpful and accomodating. We got a newly renovated room with a king bed after one nite with twin beds. Convenient location from everything. Taxis are about $5-7 SG$ from anywhere worth going. Peninsula and Excelsior are 2 separate towers with own street entrances but same lobby. There is a karaoke lounge in the lobby and it overlooks the pool which can be a bit strange as onlookers from the lobby can watch the swimmers! But I believe Excelsior has its own pool which is more private. Didnt try the food but smelled nice!
Travel tip : Sightseeing - the flyer (wheel) doesnt give a great view so not essential to experience. The fish pond therapy is hilarious!
Shopping - so many shops but for something different check out Haji lane in the arab area for more unique clothing and accessories and also Mustafa in Little India - it's 24hrs! Otherwise make sure you ask for tourish discount cards at major shopping centres.
Nightlife - Clarke Quay where all the visitors go is great for eating and partying with so much variety. Butter Factory is expensive cover charge SG$53 including 2 drink cards and has 2 rooms - hard core gangsta RNB and house/techno. But has a more local feel.

Excellent location, facilities and rooms.
I visit Singapore regularly and stay at various different hotels. I find the central location of the hotel ideal to visit Orchard RD, Clarke Quay and Chinatown. The rooms and facilities are great and the service is very good. The gym, sauna and recreational facilities and the two pools are ideal for relaxation. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Clarke Quay and Chinatown

Premium room are newly refurbished.
Breakfast is goood
Many rooms are old and worn out.
Convenient location but bad area.
Many guest there on discount packages.
Elevator and some areas smelt musty.
The superior room and I suspect many other rooms are old, tired and worn out. Only after complained a lot was I given the room I paid for. Location is convenient to City Hall station but area is not good at all.
Hotel Feature Tip : Make sure you get the room you ask for. Ask for a refurbished room. If you don't get one of the new ones you'll regret it. There are other hotels which are give you a lot nicer rooms than the old rooms for less money. Lobby area reminds me of a 3 star hotel.

Cheap, good view from the window, great tropical shower and bathtub, clean. Close to the center, subway and shopping.
Breakfast is not that good. Only one elevator was operational for 21 story building! Something was painted during the day and there was a smell of the fresh paint.
I have to say that I liked Singapore very much and I didn't pay so much attention to the hotel.
Just an normal hotel without a WOW factor. If I have to pay myself for it I would come again. The price was unbeatable and value for the money even better.
First I had 4 nights with breakfast, then 3 nights without. I can eat for 4$ in the nearby food-court! So who cares about the breakfast.
Shopping Tip : Funan IT Mall is rihgt next to the hotel!

good position, convenient to anywhere. nice view from the window.
the Peninsula Excelsior Hotel in Singapore is located in a very good position, from the hotel it is very convenient to reach anywhere in the city. the service is good and the people are nice. the food is generally good, but the breakfast is just ok. the only problem when i were there is they were re-decorating their rooms, so there were some noise, but it is quiet when you sleep at night. generally the Peninsula Excelsior Hotel is a good choice when you visit Singapore.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : walk distance to Merlion park

Sky launge, Location , Staff , Bathroom , View
Bedroom too small , TV Reception and channels poor
Good hotel in a very central location, if you have access to the sky launge then it makes it so much better, only real down side was the size of the bedroom but the view out of the large bedroom window was really great

Excellent location. Close to MRT underground as well.
Hotel is rather old and needs a major overhaul.
We chose this hotel because it is within easy commute of the Singapore Expo by MRT which we attended for 3 days. In terms of location, it is excellent. It is within walking distance to major shopping and dining complexes like Raffles City and Suntec City. We were upgraded to a junior suite because they did not have the room we wanted. But the room decor was very basic, the toilet had an intermitant sewage smell, and the water pressure wasn't strong enough so that the shower head sometimes got cut off. However, the worst thing is that one of the lifts were not working, and there was no indication that it was being repaired, so the remaining 2 lifts were packed, and extremely slow. Breakfast quality was also very average.

View from the Room, Location
Lift in the Excelsior section was extremely slow and irregular, Check-in Time
The stay was comfortable and the location is excellent - very central and close to business areas and convention centre (Suntec) as well as very close to the MRT Station.
The check-in time in 2pm which is extremely late considering most flights come into Singapore early morning and becomes difficult for people like me coming on business to get the room and proceed for a meeting on the same day. Here I do appreciate that they did try and gave me my room early by 11.30am.
I had also booked a Superior Room but don't think it was any different from a regular deluxe room.
Also only one Elevator was functioning in the Excelsior Wing, possibly due to the renovation work, which sometime made the wait very long especially in the mornings.

Have to wait very long for the lift.
It is very convenient, since it is at the main hub City Hall, and you can commute to everywhere in Singapore by MRT (which is very near, only 5 mins walk). Raffles Shopping Centre is just round the corner too, and it has the underground shopping where you can walk to Suntec City for more shopping. But, due to renovation, we have to wait very long for the lift, since only 1 lift operating (dont know what happened to the other 2). So you have to be very patient.
Restaurant Tip : There is a newly opened German bar at Raffles Shopping Centre. It's great!!

Location. Location. Location.
For the nth time, I've been going back home to Peninsula Hotel in Singapore. It's always nice to stay wehere it is really near everything. The Cityhall Station is just some steps away. The Raffles City Mall is also a good place to go, not to mention the Funan Electronic Store which is right at the corner of the Hotel. There is a great Dinning outlest just infront of it, which is open till 2 am everyday. The newllyrefurbished rooms are nice and cozy. It's always nice to be home. And I'm looking forward to going back soon!

Location, value for money.
The hotel is in an excellent location, close to the MRT train station and near shops, in the middle of town. It's also next to the IT centre Funan. The rates were also excellent.
Cabs get confused about the name, apparently there is Peninsula and there is Excelsior. We called for a cab to come to Peninsular Excelsior but it went to the lobby in the next building!
Restaurant Tip : The nearby shopping centre Raffles City has a wonderful food court on the 3rd level and lots of eateries in the basement.

location is the main pros of this hotel.
beware of renovation happenning in one tower. hope that finished next time i go visit.
i will be staying there again if there's no more construstion. hotel staffs seems a bit stressed out because many customers complain about the noise. other than that i really like this location.
Nightlife Tip : walking distance to many fun places. less than 10 minutes to most places by taxi. taxi stands all around the hotel.
