it was fine. But room was very dusty. I see coatings of dust at every corner of the room, shelf, hair dryer and even strands of hair in the bathtub. The ledge under the mirror is filled with dust too and cosmetics like eyebrow pencil/eyeliner cover, were left there. It's obviously the housekeeper didnt do a proper job.
Other then that, it was a spacious and comfortable stay.

I liked my stay. They let me early checkin at 8.30am, although regular checkin is at 2pm. The room was spacious. Service is a bit bad - need to make repeated calls to housekeeping etc, but overall, it was a good stay. The best part about this hotel is that its very close to a lot of places. Adjacent to Funan mall, opposite to Raffles City, opposite to City Hall MRT, walkable to Boat quay etc.

staff lacking professionalism, rooms old condition

The staff was not attentive, helpful and were even mildly rude to some extent. In addition, the room was not modern or updated since being originally built, with a very poor quality bathroom, stained carpets (I had to wear my shoes in the room) and non-operative TV and internet services. Upon calls to the reception (regarding the internet and TV) they literally took over 2 hours to respond.

Unique room with great view!
Nice lobby with see-through swimming pool. Could see entire harbor skyline from glass shower. Bell hops and luggage area very nice.

From beginning to end our stay at the Peninsula Excelsior was excellent. Got a great price through Agoda and an upgrade from the hotel once we arrived which included a 15th floor room with a stunning view of the harbor. The bathroom with it's full glass shower had a picture window view of the harbor as well. You could lower a blind for more privacy if needed. Breakfast was included and the service from the baggage handling area was superb.
