Location - that's the only pro about this hotel. The rooms are old and dated, and smell musty and mouldy.
Service was terrible - a lot of untrained staff, who appeared to care very little about keeping customers happy. Don't stay at this hotel. For the same rate you can find a much better, cleaner, friendlier hotel. The room smelt like it was mouldy and hadn't been used in years.
After requesting to be moved to a different room, it took me over 1 hour and 3 more requests to 3 different staff before any action was taken. The new room also smelt mouldy, and their solution was to come in and spray the carpet with deodoriser!
All the fixtures inside the room were dated, there was no cable tv as promised, and the internet is very expensive to use.
The room was so bad I was going to forgo the money I'd already paid for that night and book into a different hotel - however Agoda raised these issues to the Duty Manager, and I was upgraded to a premium room. The premium room was fine, but obviously the normal rates would be signficantly higher. So save yourself the hassle and stay clear of this hotel.

Accessible; a stone's throw away from City Hall Station. Walking distance to Merlion, Esplanade, Raffles Landing, etc. The rooms in the new building (Peninsula Tower) are nice but those in the old building (Excelsior Tower) are not. Hotel is always busy, thus it's difficult to have your request accommodated.

I get new furnished room, given from the Manager in charge, The room looks very great and comfortable. Location near Clark quay and city hall. very easy to go to anywhere. near MRT station too. some facilities need some improvement like lift looking old... location is very good. across city hall station. 1. room very old.
2. this is not a 4 star hotel. it's 2.5 max.

5. bed is totally uncomfortable agoda says it's a 4 star but it's not. it's a 2 star. so it's cheap. for those who are looking for a value price on a 4 star. this is not for you. better pay more and stay near clarke quay on a real 4 star.
Nightlife Tip : near clarke quay. 5-10 mins walk.

Neat rooms, comfortable surroundings, efficient staff, speedy room service, great CBD location Shopping Centre was a bit old and just full of tailors. I stayed here on a business trip and the staff were great with check in and accommodated all my requests. It was a fantastic location, and felt like home even for just 2 nights.
Restaurant Tip : The Room Service Nasi Goreng was superb!

Near Esplanade, Merlion, etc.
Accessible by train; near City Hall Station (EW12). A bit pricey. New building is nice but the old one is a nightmare. This is my 2nd time at this hotel. My first experience was good but this time, we were assigned to the old building.The facility is OLD. The room stunk and the bathroom is not properly maintained. I felt cheated given the money I paid for this stay.

Staff performance poor and the worst is lift accessing. rooms are small Location is good and very near to City Hall MRT and bus stop is also 3 minutes walk. Staffs performance is bad as they double check in to one room. The front office staffs give the room key to us when check in and that was already another person was there in the room already. They said this is system error but should not be. It is very long to wait to access lift although there are 4 lifts at one side of the hotel. And the way the lift goes down and up is not smooth, and feel life not safe.Rooms are small also.

Helpful & polite staff.
Centrally located.
Good views of the city. Stayed at the Excelsior Tower. Will definitely come back and stay at this hotel again. Only 5 minutes walk from City Hall MRT station. Close to Clarke Quay and walking distance to the Esplanade and Marina Bay. Only 5 minutes by MRT to Orchard Road. Modern furnishings and super clean and roomy bathroom. Five-sar quality without the price tag.

Location was very good. Everything you needed was within easy reach. The hotel fixtures were tired and in need of a refurbishment.
The hotel room was basic. I was quite surprised to see a cathode ray TV in the room, I don't even think you can buy those any more..
The Peninsula is a well located hotel with everything you could want within easy reach. The hotel itself was pretty basic and in need of a face lift. I would rate this a decent 3 star hotel and not a 4 stars hotel as listed.

Convenient location with good view on high floors. Good facilities that are no longer adequate and sorely needs updating. Services are very friendly and efficient. For low budget but a good location and good availability of all the necessary facilities, it is a hotel to be considered. I have not tried the food or entertainment because the restaurants are pricy, given the facilities and the availability of so many good eating places in Singapore. It is within walking distance to a great complex of restaurants and entertainment within a converted church and convent school.

Very clean - close to MRT where you can then go any where.. Require a bit more.. honesty Was put in a shithole room on the first night, only after complain did they moved us up to a hell better room with a great view. So - always ask for an upgrade.

The best features of the hotel is that it is very close to the City Hall. It is very clean and the service is very good. no complimentary drinking water in our room The condition of the hotel is good. It is near to the city hall, which makes it easier to get a public transport to go to other places. The service in the hotel is very good, the people are very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is close to the shopping center and the most important thing is it is very close to the food court. I will come back again and I will recommend it to my relatives and friends.

Great location, within walking distance for shopping, food, MRT station, bus stop, etc. The bathroom is kind of small. have to be careful getting in and out of the bathtub. overall the hotel is very good. we even got free room upgrade. other than the room and bathroom is smaller than we expected (even after the upgrade), we do not have any problems staying at the hotel and it very pleasant.
we didn't try the food at the hotel, not even breakfast. we thought eating out is much better than the hotel. cause you have the power to choose and price.
The hotel is close to MRT station (about 5-10 min walking), which means you can just about go anywhere you want in Singapore. Orchard rd only takes about 5 min train ride.

The hotel was conveniently located about 5 minutes (walk) away from the MRT station. The buffet breakfast was nice and offered a pretty good selection of food. Not a real problem, but the Lobby/Front Desk was located on another floor and not on the ground level. My stay was a pleasant one. The room was clean and tidy. There was only one issue I encountered and that was with the door lock to my room. I wasn't able to enter, but the Duty Mgr quickly set me up in a room nearby while they attended to the problem. After about an hour, they were able to open the door, but couldn't fix the problem entirely. The Duty Mgr offered to change rooms or to complete the repair the next day. I think some hotels wouldn't have offered so much and I think the Duty Mgr did a great job.
