We booked this room not realising that the "deluxe" room didn't have a double bed (only single beds) Have never heard of a "deluxe" room in Asia not having a double bed, so didn't even cross my mind to check.
We were advised that we could PAY (an additional $117 to upgrade to a bigger room (the next one up that had a double bed). This defeated the purpose of booking online and thinking we were getting a good deal. Remembering also, that this rate did NOT include breakfast.
As this was a treat for ourselves and we also had a booking with the Spa at the hotel, we did pay, only to be quite disappointed in the room (except for the size of it). There was a lovely balcony, but no furniture on it (and the furniture inside was totally unsuitable for the balcony, so we couldn't even utilise that. We had trouble with both tv's - we think the problem was with the remotes (neither of them wouldn't work properly) and The TV signal was like watching morse code - kept breaking up.
By this time though, we couldn't be bothered to complain to anyone at the hotel - especially not after the cold reception we got when we had checked in.
All in all, I guess these are minor issues, but we were looking forward to a relaxing overnight stay which was dampened considerably.
The only saving grace was that we did in fact have a lovely relaxing two hours at the Spa.
