Location, Cleanliness, Stylish
Expensive Breakfast. Slow Internet speed.
This is an excellent hotel that was priced very reasonably. The location is outstanding, being right in the middle of some of the best shopping in Singapore. You can tell that this hotel really takes pride in cleanliness and service.
The complimentary mini bar is a great touch. Not having to pay for a $6 bottle of water or orange juice is absolutely outstanding for a hotel like this.
Just outside the hotel is a 24 hr Starbucks and McDonalds, and is definitely something to consider, rather than paying for the expensive Halal breakfast.
In comparison to other Singapore hotels that I have stayed at, the internet connection at the Royal Plaza was running at snails pace - about 50kbps. This is disappointing for a hotel of this stature in Singapore, especially for a business traveler like myself.

Location.
Efficient.
Comfortable compact room.
Free minibar which makes checkout process quick.
Great location on Scotts Road opposite the Hyatt and Far East Plaza. No problems, rooms well decorated and comfortable although quite small of course. Good Phillips flat screen TV. Fast and free internet. Excellent bar/lounge on 2F with a good piano/guitar singing duo. Very efficient check in/out.
I have been using this hotel since it was a Holiday Inn back in 1980. It has been re-branded several times and redecorated and upgraded in order to keep up with the market. Still very convenient and good value.
Was once owned by the Sultan of Brunei - don't know if it still is?

Very close to Orchard Road , you can shop and shop all walking distance. The new shopping center ION just 3 mins away , very good location
The Breakfast is Hala food, as Chinese we miss something in Hotel. Anyway there are many resturant around , in total everything is good.
As a Overseas Singaporean , I left Singapore for more then 9 years coming to 10. I knew this hotel was called `HOLIDAY INN` but they already changed management. Now call RP Hotel. My very first stay in this hotel , I should say total very good, the greeting from staff is so natural and very professional. My booking was `Free Breakfast` but the checking counter told me , not inclusive of breakfast , but he checked and call to my room and confirmed , is his mistakes. Anyway this thing should not happened at all , but when it happened all depended on how they handle it. I think I can accept the way they do it , as they check in and refer to room first , then follow by phone call. One more thing is WI-Hi is free , which we will stay in touch with others at all time.
Shopping Tip : Lucky shopping center and Far East Shopping Center is very interesting spot for buying some Asia items.
