I stayed here with my mom, her best friend, and her best friend's daughter for seven days. We availed the mixed dorm room.
Likes:
Near a 24/7 foodcourt
Walking distance from Boon Keng MRT
Right across a bus stop (Opposite Eminent Plaza) (you can go directly to Bugis, Chinatown, and MacRitchie Reservoir by boarding the buses that stop there)
Free use of Mac computers with internet
Wi-Fi access even inside the rooms
Friendly staff
Free shampoo and shower gel
Hot and cold shower
Unlimited water, bread, butter, jam, coffee, and tea
Free use of toaster, microwave, and refrigerator (just label your food container!)
Free use of TV (with tons of movies to choose from)
Tips:
Beds near the A/C can get really cold
Squeaky beds (if you're sensitive to noise)
Snoring roommates (ready your earplugs!)
Small beds and shower rooms (only if you're tall -- 5'8" or taller!)

We enjoyed our stay here. The staff is friendly & helpful (special mention to May). There is a decent hawker center across the street. Wifi is high speed and reliable. The place is clean & tidy. You will feel like you are at home. The surrounding is also quiet. It is walking distance to Boon Keng MRT station and other areas in Singapore are easily accessible via MRT. Will most likely stay here again the next time we will be in Singapore.

Rucksuck Inn was a perfect choice! I was checking on many other places and choosed this one because of the very good reviews it had and all of them are just right. First, the place is very easy to find. It's clean, rooms are very quiet, so you'll get a good sleep at night. Lights are off at midnight (each bed has its own reading light and a plug) and on at 10am. The aircon is turned off during the daytime and on at night. My bed was a bit squeaky but I think I was the only unlucky one.Staff is very friendly and helpfull. I had to check out at 12 but as my flight was late at night they let me to leave my bag and took care of it till the evening without any extra payments or problems. There is tea, coffee and toats avaliable 24h for free. It's not a party place so if you seek for a nice place to get a good sleep this is a great choice. I'd certainly stay there again! *The nearest MRT station is Boo Koon just around the corner. If you're coming from the airport by the green line and get off at Lavender, there's no need to take a bus, it's just an 8min walk - you'll see the hostel right after the second traffic lights.

Cozy place, clean and friendly staff... good deal
I liked the quiet, the TV, the free toasts and kitchen area, and also the fact that every part of the hostel is easily accessible

It is not a big place so it is quiet and comfortable. The place is really clean and I am grateful for that. But I did not like the perfume they spread with the candles as it was irritating my nose after a little while (maybe I am a too sensitive but it wasn't bearable anymore)
I would recommand that place for the cleanliness, the quiet, the friendliness of the staff, the price and the kitchen. It would be a perfect place if it had some little access to any outdoor area.

This hostel is much more comfortable than most of hotels. The staff is very polite. Visitors were polite too during my staying here.
All you need you can find here: very fast wi-fi, three iMacs for those who doesn't have a laptop, kitchen with unlimited tea, coffe and toasts, laundry service, lockers, private lamps and sockets near all beds, comfortable living room, mini library etc
The only minus is that living and renting bikes here is quite expensive.

Nice hostel of reasonable price

15 minutes to subway and easy to access from airport (1 connection only). The mixed dorm is large but a little bit smelly at night with all doors closed. The washing area is quite nice, spacious and clean.
