Good hote, small room but clean

The hotel was in china town which was a very good location. Decoration is very nice, but the room was quite small. Friendly staff and good serviced mind. Compared to price the quality is ok.
Shopping Tip:
You can walk around china town or take a subway to other area.

this was my second stay at the hotel. i think it is an excellent value, definitely worth the price. the location is so convenient and there is a lot to see once you step out the door. the rooms are small, and the bathroom is basic, as are the amenities. the staff are friendly and helpful.
breakfast is disappointing, but the servers are super nice!
i had no problem with room noise last visit, but this time the people next door had their tv on until late, and since the walls are thin, i couldn't sleep, so i called to reception and they instantly sent someone up to advise my neighbors to make less noise, and luckily they did!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
A very short walk away is the interesting Temple of the Buddha's Tooth, don't miss it!

just like Chinese New Year

First impression was this is an amazing place. Even tho I had to drag my 20kg bag up a flight of stairs by myself. There are also no lifts. Just escalators.
If U want a quieter room, get those without a window, the downside: room is dark... Maybe a little like a jail. Could do with more lights! Or you could think its romantic.. To be positive about things!
If u like a hotel because of its decoration, you could choose this one as it features a great hall for opera, now the reception. Otherwise, stay some there else, and just walk in to visit. Rooms are small. If u are claustrophobic, I do not advise u to choose this place at all.
Walls are thin too. So u might either either make complaints or be complained about.
Breakfast consist of cereals and hard boiled eggs, with some over boiled sausages and ham thrown in. Imagine a few days of this... Pineapple and watermelon also served. To be fair, tea+milk from the machine is good. Breakfast in served from 7-10. Would be better for professionals if they start from 6am.
Entrance is from either side of the hotel, smith street or temple street. Smith is a hawker food street from 6pm to 10pm. Meaning great food choices, but the street is closed to cars. There would be a clean up at 2am. Hope u are not a light sleeper!!

great location within a few minutes walk of mrt, right in chinatown. room adequate - there were two single beds. bathroom was new lots of hot water - took a while to drain after shower but not a problem. breakfast was adequate - friendly staff.
will stay again.
Restaurant Tip:
within Chinatown. lots of local food courts. Leave the obvious tourist restaurants and dine in one these food courts. Good value and see a slice of local life. Try Peoples Park Complex or Peoples Park Centre or Chinatown Visitor Centre behind Sago Lane.

Historical building (Chinese Opera) is cool, but 'superior double' is tiny and a baby cot was not available. We did get an extra sheet though...check-in lasted long also. Room was clean and new. Wouldn't stay here long, but on the way to the airport, it is ok. In the middle of China town, lots of fresh streetfood and bars around, also several temples 1 block away; this was clean, small and in the middle of Singapore, which is always expensive, we know. Bythway: there are two 'Santa Grand' hotels in the same street, pick the right one.

Great Location in the Heart of Chinatown

Booked this for a staff from Indonesia. Saw it as a good offer on Agoda. But what attracted me was the location and the vicinity of good food.
Just outside the hotel was the food street with all kinds of hawker fare. And if you are slightly adventurous, the Chinatown food market, Maxwell Food Market and North bridge road stores are full of local and Mainland china cusine.
It was also Chinese New Year, so additional bazaars were there to sell their wares. The crowds and energy can be infectious and fun.

the room was small but adequate. i didnt expect more. the room was clean. good location, many local stalls, shopping centre, hawker centre nearby and its wonderful.uncomfortable bathroom and
dim light .
wi-fi was okay and free to use with passcode and breakfast was okay with western style .
