chinese style hotel match theme of chinatown
resonable price, cool aircon temperature and fast wifi
This is only good for young people,i like the unique chinese style. Its in a convenience location which is near chinatown mrt station just 1 minutes, and the station is link to other station like downtown line,go bugis/marina.bay front/clark quarke just in 10min. the weakness is the hotel do not have lift, only escalator provided. My 75 years old was very unhappy with that because one day the escalator was out of order, make her climb to 3rd floor is very hard... for their services is just normal,no smile and also dunt expect them to help u carry your overall the services is just normal.

Charming decor and concept, but excessively noisy!
Location, decor, room rates
For the location, Lai Chun Yuen is truly one of the best in China town. The concept of turning an old Chinese opera theatre into a hotel is very interesting indeed. The effort was sincere, and the room rates, like all other Santa Grand, are kept low. It's about as low as you can get in expensive Singapore. However, I was truly disappointed by the amount of noise the room (deluxe with balcony) get any part of the day. It's overlooking the Chinatown food street and a loud karaoke lounge. You get a lot of noise from about midday till 2 to 3 am. There is absolutely no sound proof in the room, it feels like you are sleeping right in the middle of a busy street. The bed if also a bit hard. I accumulated a lot of fatigue from lack of sleep after 4 nights. For this reason, even if I paid the low rates, it's just not worth it. This is truly a shame.

Our stay @ santa grand
room is very small, toilet is unaccessable for an European medium, but it is perfectly located in the heart of China Town. Conclusions, not worth of 100$ rates

Service and cleaness
Only good location
Please improve service(especially the night shift receptionist & drinking water supply) and the cleaness of the hotel.
