Hotel is ideally situated in the heart of Chinatown, with easy access to the MRT and airport. Interior is well designed and very atmospheric, reception/lounge area has the 'wow' factor. Single room is very comfortable but small with no window or natural light. Overall enjoyed my stay at this hotel.

It was generally for a night over but was very surprised with the size of the room. A bit to small for a couple but since this is for a night, it was ok. The Beds were very uncomfortable, hard and small, i think a tall person might not fit the bed. Also, the common area needs better upkeep as the carpets are really starting to show their age..

Clean hotel located right in the heart of Chinatow

If you choose to be close to shops, restaurants and tourist attractions in the city, Santa Grand Hotel Lai Chun Yuen would be the best option. Please note there is another Hotel with the same name located in Chinatown. The staff was kind enough to assist carry our bags to the rightlocation. The room is not bad (around 16sqm) in comparison to other hotels in the vicinity. We arrived early and was given early check-in after waiting for half an hour. The staff were apologetic for the slight delay. The room itself is tidy although you can see some signs of wear and tear. The price we paid for the hotel includes in-house breakfast which is good considering not many shops in the vicinity opens early in the morning. We liked the location given it is close to the temples and mosque. It is also very close to the Chinatown MRT station. I would suggest to budget travellers to use the MRT in lieu of taxi given the cost differential.

Overall acceptable for budget hotel. We stayed in deluxe room - King size bed. The room and bathroom slightly small but just for one or two night stay, should be ok. Walking distance to the shopping area, right in front of the hotel can get variety of food at night. Less than 5 mins walking distance to NE4 Chinatown MRT, two station away is Harbourfront station if you wish go Universal Studio at Sentaso, can take either by monorial or express bus to enter Sentosa.
