Nice hotel

he hotel is situated in the middle of picturesque Chinatown in Singapore. It is really a very old Opera house which had been converted into a hotel. the rates on the internet are really cheap in Singapore for this boutique hotel. which suited me fine . I only wanted a room to sleep in and a shower when i came back each day. i stayed for 1 nite. It is extremely close to the underground station which is most convenient. lots of local pubs, restuartants and activities during the night, just on the hotel's door steps.

The hotel is situated in China Town, just a few minutes walk from China Town MRT station. Once you step out from MRT, there are a long walking streets, full of shops selling souvenirs and local food. The hotel decoration is very unique in Chinese style and it's all red when you go inside the lobby, a bit scary actually. The room I have is very very small and when you open the door, it's one step to tiolet / bath room on your right and two steps to the bed at your front.

Book this hotel, think it was "grand" as the name suggests. The price was close to and that was way overpriced. Small room, however it was clean.

The smallest room I've ever stayed in

this was absolutely the smallest room i've ever stayed in - including rooms in hong kong, tokyo, and the hudson hotel in new york. lighting was dark, and the bed literally touched walls on three sides. i had to stack my luggage in the chair. the positive was that the bathroom was clean, and big (took up probably 50% of the room). the carpet gives the hotel a dirty 70's type feel. the free breakfast is a little more than a continental breakfast, you'll probably need to eat again soon after. one funny thing is i put my toothbrush in the bathroom glass - the cleaning guy apparently still washed the glass, and put my toothbrush on the sink! good thing they provided extras. if you like chinatown, the location was very convenient.
