Room was an excellent size restaurants excellent, gym and sauna well maintained, modern equipment. Staff are very friendly.
A little away from Orchard Road but not really a significant issue
This is an excellent well appointed hotel with very friendly staff. The Line restaurant breakfast is something to behold. The bars are cozy and the amenities such as the pool tennis courts and gymanasium are well maintained. The business centre is brilliantly run. Overall i enjoyed my experience at the Shangri-La and would not hesitate to return.

Gorgeous foyer and grounds.
Friendly courteous staff.
Concierge very helpful.
Horizon Club - evening cocktails and canapes.
Sumptuous breakfasts.
Very few weaknesses. Just to comment that Tower Club rooms are a little tired and dated and some attention to detail (stained curtains etc.) would improve. Also distance from shopping and transport a slight deterent (although a free shuttle is available to nearest shopping).
Too expensive for the quality of room appointments.
The Shangri-la is a tranquil Sanctuary in bustling Singapore and one that came highly recommended. The initial impact on arrival is breathtaking, though the rooms could do with a little attention. Friendly courteous staff, beautiful pool and gardens and fantastic food make for a memorable stay. Shangri-la Singapore
a haven from the city buzz.
Shopping Tip : Unless you get a taxi be prepared for a wait for shuttle bus to nearest shopping/MRT.

the price of breakfast, dated electrical works, value for price (on everything)
This was simply a nightmare stay. the elctrical panels are decades old, and throughout the evening my lights and television were going on and off, and electrician came to my room three times throughout the day (note that I reported the problem as soon as I checked in) and still couldn't fix it. Finall, at 3:00 a.m., they gave me another room to sleep in. No deduction was given on my room rate. This might have been a nice hotel in the 80's, but there are way better and more competitive places on the market these days. Give this one a pass.
