Nice, clean and comfortable room. Hotel staffs and concierge are polite and attentive.
The hotel room is one of the best there is in terms of cleaniness and comfort level. Everything from the work desk to bathroom amenities are top-notch! The breakfast is excellent as well with attentive and polite staffs. The location of the hotel is not very far from Orchard Road with about 5 minutes walking distance down to the main road. Above all it was memorable stay for me.

Very nice service, spacious rooms, great pool, gym and facilities.
Not necessisarily a weakness but you need to take a short taxi ride to the shopping on Orchard road (less than 5 minutes).
This hotel was very nice and met or exceeded our expectations on every level. The pool area is great and so is the gym/spa area. The rooms were very spacious and the balconey in our room in the garden wing was beautiful with nice flowers and a decent view. We would certainly stay here again and would recommend it to our friends.
Shopping Tip : You need to take a short taxi ride from the hotel to most shopping on orchard road (but only takes about 3 minutes).

Room size - and upgraded on arrival. Excellent breakfast. Good pool area.
The hotel is excellently located close to the shopping of Orchard Rd. The rooms in the Garden Wing are a good size, beautifully furnished with great bathrooms.
In the main building the bar on the balcony of the 24th floor is a good place for a nightcap with views of the city.
The pool area, with abundant greenery, is a pleasant oasis in the heart of the city and for such a large hotel never seemed that busy.
Restaurant Tip : Dine at "Flutes", sit on verandah - good menu, lovely building. Can be difficult to find - enter through carpark of philatellic museum.

Great service
Oasis type resort with great gardens
Fantastic pool area
Some of the rooms in the garden wing are starting to look a bit dated
The Shangri La has been one of Singapores top hotels for a number of years now and you can see why.
Although not as central as some other hotels you can you the Shang as either a city/business stay or resort holiday.
The pool and garden areas are some of the best in Asia

Fantastic setting especially the pool area
Too far from the Formula One race track
The Hotel staff were friendly and helpful during our entire stay particularly the door men who were wonderful in getting taxis for us at all hours of the day and night. The pool and gym facilities were at all times extremely well kept with efficient staff manning thier respective areas. The food and drinks service at the pool was very professional every day.

Room was an excellent size restaurants excellent, gym and sauna well maintained, modern equipment. Staff are very friendly.
A little away from Orchard Road but not really a significant issue
This is an excellent well appointed hotel with very friendly staff. The Line restaurant breakfast is something to behold. The bars are cozy and the amenities such as the pool tennis courts and gymanasium are well maintained. The business centre is brilliantly run. Overall i enjoyed my experience at the Shangri-La and would not hesitate to return.
Shopping Tip : Close to Orchard Road

Gorgeous foyer and grounds.
Friendly courteous staff.
Concierge very helpful.
Horizon Club - evening cocktails and canapes.
Sumptuous breakfasts.
Very few weaknesses. Just to comment that Tower Club rooms are a little tired and dated and some attention to detail (stained curtains etc.) would improve. Also distance from shopping and transport a slight deterent (although a free shuttle is available to nearest shopping).
Too expensive for the quality of room appointments.
The Shangri-la is a tranquil Sanctuary in bustling Singapore and one that came highly recommended. The initial impact on arrival is breathtaking, though the rooms could do with a little attention. Friendly courteous staff, beautiful pool and gardens and fantastic food make for a memorable stay. Shangri-la Singapore
a haven from the city buzz.
Shopping Tip : Unless you get a taxi be prepared for a wait for shuttle bus to nearest shopping/MRT.

Wonderful setting. Near Orchard Road - which is the happening place in Singapore.
It is quite a maze though simply because it is quite a big hotel. Also, you'd rather have your food out of the hotel and the menu prices are relatively steep.
My wife and I had a wonderful time at this hotel. The hotel rates were sky-high but it was well worth the stay there. We were upgarded to the Valley Wing, and everything was personalised - right to the stationery in the room! If you'd like to know what it would feel like being 'royalty' then it is Shangri-La for you. Breakfast was superb and you can have your fill without having the need for lunch. This is a magnificent hotel filled with tasteful antique furniture.
Nightlife Tip : If you're into nightlife then there is the Orchard Towers located nearby with bars, etc.

the price of breakfast, dated electrical works, value for price (on everything)
This was simply a nightmare stay. the elctrical panels are decades old, and throughout the evening my lights and television were going on and off, and electrician came to my room three times throughout the day (note that I reported the problem as soon as I checked in) and still couldn't fix it. Finall, at 3:00 a.m., they gave me another room to sleep in. No deduction was given on my room rate. This might have been a nice hotel in the 80's, but there are way better and more competitive places on the market these days. Give this one a pass.

The attention we recieved from the staff was second to none. We will definitely stay here again on return visits to Singapore.
We truly could not find anything that was a problem; then again we were not looking as we were enjoying the atmosphere of this hotel and the friendliness of the staff.
The décor of the hotel entrance is warm and inviting. We loved every minute of our stay at the Shangri-La.
The service of the staff was impeccable we were treated like family; it was as if you were the most important person to ever visit the hotel.
The elegance of the room was the most pleasant experience to have after a big day shopping my wife and I mean big day, a bed that you sleep in and not on is a must for all heel worn husbands. The bathroom was so elegant my wife was afraid to use it.
We had breakfast daily by the pool between the palms this is something that must be experienced to believe. The breakfast display was excellent, and having so many different choices eg: nationalities, we sampled breakfast from Korea, Japan, England, India, the good old continental and four other nations I now forget. I would just come for the food.
The daily evening complementary eats and drinks in the Horizon club is a lovely gesture by the hotel and the view.
Travel tip : We had exceptional service from all of the staff, and the information and assistance given at the front desk was second to none. My wife and I found the hotel location ideal as we enjoyed the walk down Orange grove Rd after breakfast, to Tanglin Rd and along Orchard Road to the main shopping precinct.

Beautiful, impressive hotel with excellent landscaped grounds. Rooms are very nice.
The food and beverage service at the pool is almost non-existent. There's nothing fun to do at this hotel. It's a 15 minute walk to Orchard Road in hot weather. Need a pedestrian entrance from Orange Grove Road in lieu of walking through the parking lot.
This aging beauty with an impressive lobby and grounds has well equipped and well kept rooms. Food and beverage are extremely overpriced even for Singapore standards. More fun things to do and a less stuffy cocktail bar would be welcomed. I would probably stay at the Marriott or Park Hotel right on Orchard Road next time.
Shopping Tip : Orchard Road is nearby with great shopping; but don't miss Citylink by Marina square and the Singapore Flyer.

Pool and health club were great as were the rooms.
The Shangri-la Singapore is an oasis in the city. The hotel is immaculately maintained and the staff is very helpful. I needed a late check out due to my return flight and they let me stay in the room until 3:00 at no additional charge. My room, was a bit on the small side but very well appointed and had a great view of the park across from the main entrance.
Restaurant Tip : A Starbucks around the corner on Orchard.

the sheer quality and number of facilities on hand at the shangri la hotel is impressive.
the staff deserve a special mention, they are terrific and very welcoming, top service
if you were paying full price it would soon add up but I guess you get what you pay for.
from the moment I walked into the hotel the service was first class. The meet and greet staff and check in crew are a credit to the hotel and I was in my room smoothly with minimal delay. This is an all encompassing hotel with facilities that would allow a guest to not leave the grounds if they didn't wish to. All in all with Agoda's discount rate it worked out to be a fabulous experience and I would be very happy to recommend this hotel if one's budget permitted. A true class act and one I will be utilising again when in Singapore.
Hotel Feature Tip : join the shangrila hotel club and enjoy the benefits of membership all over the world with this group
