Very friendly and efficient staff.
Great restaurants.
Breakfast buffet is top notch with plenty of healthy foods available.
Excellent location. Renovations underway, so a bit noisy during daylight hours. We arrived in Singapore from Jakarta on October 31st. Checked into the hotel in mid-afternoon and we were upgraded to an Executive Suite. Nice. Quick shower and off to do some errands. Taxi was easy to get. When we returned later that evening we joined a party of our friends at the sidewalk cafe for dinner and drinks. The Marriot Burger with Cajun fries were awesome. Overall quite an enjoyable experience.

Location is great, smack bang in the middle of Orchard Road shopping district. Very friendly and helpful front desk.
Room was large with a pleasant sitting room area. Housekeeping - I had to ask for my room to be made up at 3.30pm!
Noise problem with rooms facing Orchard Road.
The decor is looking very dated. The Mariott is in a fabulous location for hitting the Singapore shops - right on Orchard Road and on top of the train station. The staff are also lovely, enthusiastic and friendly and the room I had was a good size with a lovely sitting area. However, many details are lacking. I had to ring reception to ask for my room to be made up, as it still hadn't been done by mid-afternoon - not acceptable at a 5 star hotel! There was also a shocking noise problem from the a bar across the road - thumping music that continued well into the wee hours. The hotel decor is also starting to look very tired.
Overall, a good experience, but for the price this hotel needs some work.

Great location, good service small rooms, lousy business center This is a Marriott on a small footprint and the rooms and the club lounge are smaller than they should be. It is also very expensive for what it is. The location is great, but I would not want to spend this kind of money again for something that is not really five star. I will say that the staff is very nice, but bottom line--it would be fine at 2/3 of the price they charge

Right in the middle of the shopping Construction next door.
Food was very expensive. They are building next door the noise was not too bad.
It is right in the middle of all the shopping malls.

Shopping Tip : No need for a car as the shopping malls are at your front door.

Location, proximity to shopping centres, retaurants. Didn't like the shower door opening into the door of the bathroom I enjoyed my time at the Marriott, I really enjoyed it's location as I could walk to the many places I had to meet up with friends and relatives. It's connected by underground walkways to Ngee Ann City, Wisma Atria, Wheelock Place, The Ion and Shaw Centre. Only a short walk to the other shopping centres like Paragon, The Heeren and others. The staff at the Marriott are friendly and helpful and housekeeping can't be faulted. I will definitely stay at the Marriott again.

Located on Orchard road so it is pretty central to all the brand name shops. I upgraded to lounge access with free cocktails, breakfast and internet. Worth it for one person, but great value for two people given the expensive downstairs breakfast. Made the mistake of accepting a top floor room, lift gear and water pumps banging and clanking is the risk you run. The noise was only minimal though and didn't keep me awake but reminded me of very bad night in Malaysia when I made the same mistake. All rooms in this hotel seem to be the same, so don't believe them if they say they will find you a nice room. I did notice some nice little pool villas around the pool that I may check out next time. Pool area was great with some afternoon sun.
Nightlife Tip : Next to the Thai embassy is a nightclub called the Blowfish bar. Good music and looking for some customers. Worth a visit.

upgrade possibility for pool terras, service, best breakfast, friendly, modern design the marriot really knew what we were looking for and listened to us: we were given the opportunity to upgrade and we took a look what the deal was and it was sold! Perfect place on the pool! Singapore slings at handreach. Very friendly service. The room looks very modern design with a stone bathtub in the middle and iPod connection.

Expensive breakfast for just the cereal. Second time I have stayed here on Orchard Road, right in the heart of all the shopping and nightlife. A little bit on the expensive side but then Singapore is not cheap at the best of times. Tried to get into the Hilton but not available on Agoda. Room was clean and of a high standard and okay to spend the night, a little on the small side though. Breakfast was really quite expensive, I think around the $38 mark just for the continental. I am sure there are cheaper places in the locality that I may try next time.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Plenty of bars opposite the Hilton Hotel. Out the hotel to the left and through the underpass and keep walking for 5 minutes. Can't take a taxi because is a one way street.

PERFECT location and amazing service! Service to get a taxi was good but sometime it was a long wait...Could help the hotel guest a bit more. The Hotel was one of the stays I have made over seas and I travel a lot. The personal service was AMAZING! I would stay here over and over and the location was perfect!

Beautiful poolside rooms, great service and efficient staff, and a convenient location. Staying at the Marriot Hotel Singapore on Orchard Road has been one of the best vacations I have ever had. Aside from the grand lobby and complete facilities, the pool side room was beautifully designed with the latest amenities, I loved that they had the ipod dock and an LCD TV. Hi-end fixtures, a beautiful bath tub and tastefully selected furniture. The staff were very friendly and courteous and very efficient. Would definitely love to stay here again.

Excellent ground floor bar. Good atmosphere. Nice people. Excellent DJ. And top class draft Stella Artois beer!
Shopping Tip : Excellent book shop right across the hotel, at basement of the shopping mall.
