The staff were always trying to help and make sure you were taken care of. When we arrived early in the morning the room wasn't ready yet. While talking to them they noticed my wife looked a little unwell after 16 hours of flying on 2 flights. They then looked for another room we could have so we didn't have to wait 2 hours. The first room that was serviced was called back down and we were sent up to it. The shopping center has so many restauants and food halls to choose from but if you want more you only have to walk 5 minutes up the street to the convention center and another shopping center.

The location was great with easy access to walk to all the main attractions around Singapore. The shopping center located within the hotel was a bonus and the breakfast is an added bonus.

There was one small thing we found strange and that was every morning we went into the bathroom there would always be about 10-12 small little ants running around in the sink.

• Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : It is easy to walk to the Singapore flyer by walking out the front door go to the right to the corner and walk down to the bay and you can't miss it. If you are 60 or older make sure you say senior for your discount as most of the time they don't ask. Even the movie theater in the hotel we were able to get discounted tickets and all they ask is to see your senior card.

• Shopping Tip : City Link Mall keeps you away from the strong heat and humidity and provides access to three excellent malls.

• Shopping Tip : There are so many good shops and restaurants at the hotel with better prices than even DFS for some souvenir.

Overrated, Poor Business Services Guest Rating: 3.2

An Agoda reservation at this hotel gets no upgrades and "attitude" from check-in clerk. This despite gold membership in Swissotel program. I've never had this problem with "discount" reservation program before, and felt I was being punished by Swissotel for saving money!

• Restaurant Tip : Remarkably good low-cost food from several restaurants in the adjacent mall, including a third floor Szechuan restaurant that was simply spectacular.

I have stayed at the Swissotel Stamford many times since 1998, in a number of different rooms. It is a large hotel, but service has always been good, food excellent and the location the best in the city.

• Travel tip : The underground train station is directly under the hotel. There is also a shopping centre and supermarket.

Good that the hotel is not built over a shopping mall, like many others in Singapore. Very close to City Link MRT and just across the park from Esplanade mall with theatre etc.

• Restaurant Tip : Extremely good value Japanese restaurant, Ichiban Boshi, on the first floor, Esplanade Mall, just 10 mins walk away across the park.

In fact, I have stayed another hotels before in Singapore. Judging from total value, Inter-Continental is superior to Swissotel Stamford.

The hotel service was very good and the staff has been trained very well. Really enjoy stay over there and will continue using their service again in coming Nov.
