we went to the hotel by mrt. the hotel is located right on the ground floor of the lavender station. even in the rainy day we do not need an umbrella to get there from the station. the hotel is newly built and very clean. all facilities looks good and the restaurant is really nice with the open space. however there are severals points that i think need improvements. first, since the swimming pool is next to the restaurant so sometimes people can easily slip on the wet floor on the way there, especially chidren and old people. second, the gym is rather small and some of the equipments are broken, and the gym floor was wet. third, the swimming pool was not designed for little children since it is too deep. the fourth, it is better that the front office staffs to be more friendly. however, the hotel is still value for money.
Shopping Tip:
For shopping, you can go to Bugis by mrt (one station from Lavender) or taxi (around SGD 15-20).

Friendly hotel with excellent location
Great location with easy accessibility to food and public transport.

V Hotel Lavender is located right on top of MRT station and hence public transport is very convenient. Food is also readily available at the Lavender MRT station and nearby area.
The family room is just nice for a family of three though the bathroom is a little too small. Hotel staffs and friendly and helpful.
Travel tip:
It's advisable to take the 2-day Singapore pass which allows you to experience Singapore by DuckTour, hip-hop open top shuttle buses, river cruise and include attractions such as Singapore Flyer, Botanic / Orchid Garden and several museums.
A visit to Sentosa Island, including Universal Studio is a must for the Singapore trip.

Great hotel, Great Staff, Great Location

enjoyed my stay greatly at this hotel and was positively surprised. the hotel is new, meaning all was nice and clean. was greeted friendly by staff and was allowed early check-in (9am) at no cost. free wifi was a bonus. there was a food court downstairs part of the hotel and this is full of great asian foods. mrt station is directly below meaning only about 10 mins to wherever you need to go (orchard, harbourfront), 25 mins to airport (mrt)or $17 cab.
there is a small gym and a pool that is a bonus.
the room may be a little small for a couple but for a single person absolutely fine.
if i was to be picky.
- lifts busy/slow
- wifi reception in my room not great but hey, it was free!

the hotel is very near to the mrt station, the room is clean. bathroom is very small, but clean. the location is ok, there is a kopitiam that open 24hr. bus stop also 5 min walks. the bed is comfortable. free wi-fi but only for 1 user. the breakfast is not bad. we'll be back to this hotel next time.

Nice, well located hotel with good value

The V Hotel is a good place to stay if you're looking for a location outside of the airport, however close to an MRT train stop. The hotel isn't obvious when exiting the MRT stairwell, however is very close.
Good value with easy access to local shops, good foodcourt, and easy access to the rest of Singapore via the MRT and bus.
The hotel breakfast buffet is good, however a bit pricey unless you purchase it beforehand as a part of your hotel reservervation. No other meals were tried, as there are other food options nearby and throughout Singapore.
If you're looking for a good, clean place to stay a night or two, the V Hotel has great, small room accommodations for the basics. If you're looking for a more lavish experience, you may want to look elsewhere, as the V Hotel is more suited to the more transient traveler seeking decent accommodations.
The hotel hallways were a bit noisy from time to time with loud, younger travelers, however seemed to settle down within reason for a good nights sleep.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
There are a number of private sightseeing bus tour companies around Singapore that provide a great way to see the city before going out and exploring it on your own. You will need to go to the ferris wheel near the city center to find the bus service companies. Be aware that the buses don't run as far as some of the areas like Lavender, where the V Hotel is located, so you'll need to plan accordingly with a taxi or MRT train or bus. Also of note, the MRT train does not run 24 hours per day, so getting back to the airport for early flights requires a taxi.

great hotel for a short stay with easy access to the airport and the city center. just outside the super-busy city-center area, however still busy enough to be desirable when it comes to local food and shops.
this hotel is recommended for travelers who want to have good access to the city and the airport at a reasonable price. the hotel is clean and nice with small rooms and beds-- not a lavish setting, however gets the job done well if you're looking for good, easy accommodations for a short stay.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Internet access via WiFi is available for free in the hotel rooms, and this service was appreciated. Also, travel itineraries can be printed out free of charge by the hotel business center staff. The manager goes out of his way to ensure everyone is accommodated as best as possible. I highly recommend the hotel due to the service.
