This was the fourth times I stayed at Value Thomson. I am greated like a home comer, a friend. Each time I can write an even better review.
I am a fan now.
there are many cafes around there, along Balestier Road, chinese bakeries, etc. excellent for food and eating. I find 2nd kitchen, next door to hotel to be poor in standard and food qualities.
Travel tip:
go to Marina Square shopping mall and please don't miss Marina Bay Sands with the museum there and all the other bits and pieces. Go to the 57th floor, see the view from the Ku De Ta Club and have a drink seeing the most spectacular swimming pool in the world.

Basic hotel
As the name says 'value'. The value is acceptable given that Singapore is not an inexpensive place.

The hotel is okay. Clean and very basic. It is very popular amongst Chinese mainland travel groups. They arrive in huge groups and are not considerate at all. This means they shout over the floors, smash doors, etc. So do not expect to sleep longer than 7.30 am. The hotel has no charme at all, but is fine for one or two nights if you do not like to spend more than SGD 150 a night incl service and tax.

room is ok but the toilet is worst

in good location where has food store ard the hotel. nice to have free wifi in room. room size is ok just the toilet is not very good coz the toilet bowl and all around the toilet is wet. we chose superior room but didnt know the difference between "standard" & "superior" since we also lived in lower floor (6/F).. the room is little bit old and dirty ard the air-con. its quite noisy.

Just nice hotel for a short stay
Clean and good value with all the needed accessories. Bus stops to all centers within 7 min walk.

Very small room. maybe suitable for 1 person. Very noisy due to poor sound proofing, no carpet in the rooms and corridors.
Good points are efficient front desk and house-keeping.

Affordable for a short holiday

I have been staying there many times during my trips. As the floor is not carpeted, I find it too noisy if you get a room near the lifts. We could hear people talking and walking around during the night. Best is to get a room far away from those area. Some travellers who travel in group are very inconsiderate, yelling from one room to another. Very unpleasant.
