Small room, paper thin walls, screaming children

We stayed in a room without a window. It was so small that our luggage had to lie on the bed. The bathroom was 1,5 m2 and the shower had no curtain so the toilet and the rest of the room was soaking wet. Bad smell from the toilet at all times. No possibility to air out the room since there were no windows. We could hear everything of what was happening in the corrodor outside the rooms, and we had to call the reception every night at about 2 AM so that they could send someone up and stop the noice. I will not recomend this hotel! you stay at a low-budget hotel because you want somwhere to sleep, but we got nothing! No restaurant, just a chinese one outside the hotel.

the hotel is giving us rooms as requested during our booking, such as rooms must have window, same floor, etc. overall, this hotel is quite ok in terms of cleanliness, location and helpful staffs. the only thing a bit disspointed is the room is quite small, so as the toilet and there is no fridge in the room.

most of the rooms have smoke smell

the first room i tried had extreme smoke smell. it smelled like the hotel staff tried to suppress the smell, but it was still there. and you could tell people smoked in that room casually.
the second room was still smelling smoke, but was tolerable. i thought there was a problem with the air-con and moved to another room. they gave me a room close the cleaning room where maids store their equipment. the room had no smoke smell. the problem is, the maids can wake you up early in the morning since they start working early, so the staff usually don't give out those rooms to their guests. therefore, usually no smoke and quieter till morning.
it was the same trick they did before to me in another value hotel. they gave me a room close to the storage room again when i said "i don't want any tiny smoke smell in my room, and i want it as quite as possible till morning".
in general, mediocre hotels in sg suck!! because of these chain hotels, and of course sg is more expensive than other asian countries. for example, in hong kong, there are no such chain hotels, and the competition is very high there. you can stay at a "very nice" room as a mediocre hong kongese.

Reasonable hotel but bit far from MRT

The room is comfortable and clean. The only disadvantage is that the mrt station is not very near. The good thing is that it is not far from Orchard road, the main street for shopping.

We stay just one night, the room are so clean, but very small, only bed, and one small (very) desk. and it's so hard to find any taxi from this hotel. we must wait about 10 - 15min.
Shopping Tip:
if you want to buy a interior lamp and any other electricity, this area will be great, but if you looking for something like bugis or orchard shopping, you better not stay here
