The Hotel is located about 5 minutes walk from the Paragon Shopping Centre in Orchard. It has a very nice Lobby area with small souvineer shop, coffee shop and restaurant. However, one downside is that there is no Bar at all in the Hotel. Mini Bars are provided in the rooms, which are comfortable and well appointed. Some of the common areas (corridoors and lift lobby araes) are looking a little "tired" and could do with some refurb work. However, this hotel represents great value (Especially in Singapore) and is in a great location for those who want to Shop in Orchard Area

Poor service no smile
Coffee house staff friendlier and concierge provided good service but reception was cold and unfriendly.

We stayed in family room and it is a huge room, the staffs are nice, with yummy food in the coffe shop and not expensive.
The hotel is behind the Mount E hospital, we have to walk thru it to Orchard Street. The distance from hotel to Orchard hotel is around 200 m.
Our concern is only about the mineral water they are only give us for the first 2 days and not to the other 2 days.
Hotel Feature Tip:
You can use family room for parents with 3 small kids or 2 teenagers

Clean room but the location is too far to walk to/from Orchard and MRT station, not convinient especially if we travel with children or old person. We must take a taxi. The hotel location is hard to find and located at high area of Orchard. Must use much energy to walk back to the hotel. The reception was unfriendly.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Prepare some extra money for taxi to/from the hotel. Prepare to buy mineral water everyday, since the hotel only provide free just one bottle per stay/visit not per day.

York hotel is situated right in the heart of Singapore's shopping district, hence it is very accessible to shopping, and getting around. It's close proximity to medical centres are also very convenient for medical travellers. The hotel is clean and very comfortable, with cable TV and all you can expect from a hotel of this standard. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and associates who are visiting Singapore.
