Good hotel - nice location, average service

Nice lobby. Nice room. Nice pool. Nice restaurant. Nice pool. Nice overall.
Great location, close to Orchard Road. Great location for patients because it's close to Mt Elizabeth hospital.
One drawback: service is average. Bellboy didn't offer to carry my luggage as I carried them from the taxi. Service desk people were courteous, but I don't feel like a guest in a five-star hotel.

Lovely clean/neat hotel
Room size was a bit cramp if 3persons as we had an extra bed for our son. Otherwise overall our stay was comfortable and neat.

since we pay for each night (we stayed 3 nights), we should have complete toiletries everyday such as 2 bar soaps, 2 sets of shampoo and conditioner each night. i wonder why they don't completely replenish since the room was paid for each night....there were some communication problems with the housekeeper as her english was not very good, but generally she was pleasant. the beds were great and temperature was cool, very nice and cozy. concierge was not too helpful, they don't seem to know much of known restaurants.
overall experience was pleasant, had a great time with family seeing the sights. need at the least 4 full days, no less......too few tv channels for a hotel
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Suggest if first timers in Singapore to take at least a half day city tour just so you get to see all important sights. We decided not to and just go by suggested places to visit, we wasted a lot of time walking, looking for taxis, not knowing which direction to take etc....When you ask how far a place is, they tell you 5 minute walk but in actuality it could be as long as 15-20 minutes walk so, do not be deceived....Watch the show Wicked, it was great! my kids loved it, the green witch was fantastic!

Perfect Location for downtown shopping

We booked the Family Room, which has 2 Single beds and 1 King bed. It's enough for our small family. The best point of this hotel is its location. You just walk 10 mins to go to the city center and 5 mins to the Elizabeth Hospital ^^ However, the hotel's staffs are not really friendly

Convenient location but lack of amenities
Walking distance to Orchard Rd, access to public transports, slightly cheaper price compared to other hotels in the area, relatively bigger room

we have stayed in this hotel several times due to cheaper price compared to other hotels in orchard area, yet we noticed that amenities became lesser, e.g. limited cable tv channels, no weight scale provided anymore, no cutleries, etc. once during our stay, the room had a very bad sewage smell that came from the toilet and became worse due to poor air circulation, we had to stay in the room as we were told that other rooms were fully-booked. luckily this incident did not happen again during our next visit.

york hotel is conveniently located. easy access to restaurants, mrt station & shopping malls. for a short business trip or getaway, york provides an ideal place. room is simple & clean. housekeeping staff are constantly keeping the environment clean & smelling nice. access to hotel is good with 2 entrance/exit to our destinations & meetings. the pool & gym is adequate for a quick workout on your trip. the only setback we faced was the internet rate which is pricey & not convenient for foreigners like us when we need it. other than that, the hotel served the functions for our trip. would have loved a better selection of f&b outlets in the hotel & perhaps some entertainment also.
Restaurant Tip:
we fell in love with tcc, easily available around town in malls. good menu, excellent execution, reasonably priced & free wifi.
