nice & clean hotel close to the city
close to orchard, clean & nice rooms

hotel room is clean and the breakfast was also ok.
location was ok --- just 15min walk to orchard through paragon mall. nice hotel to stay in if you want to be close to city. taxis are always available just outside the lobby.
only downside was the uphill walk going back to the hotel after a day of tour/shopping.

I and my friend stay 2 nights at York Hotels. We like the hotel since it is the right size, not too big so that we have to walk a long way to go to our room. So we can get to the room quickly, lay down on nice hard bed after walking the whole day at Orchard Road. We did not have to queue to pay the bill at the cashier. The hotel provide luggage storage which allows us more time to go back shopping at Orchard. Taxi is available in front of hotel and we did not have to wait eventhough it was peak hour.

Did not appreciate that they did not ask if we preferred one or two beds. Gave us two single beds even though we were a same-sex couple. This did not happen in Malaysia. They were courteous to ask and respect our wishes.
Restaurant Tip:
There is a McDonalds that opens late in the basement level of Lucky plaza when all they other food places are closed on the street.

prior to making my reservation at the york hotel in singapore late last year, the reviews i had read were 50/50 in relation to positive/negative comments. i am happy, however, to report that my stay in early april was a pleasant experience. the premier room we booked, albeit not a cheap option, was perfect for a family of 4, the bathroom was quite large and in a clean and fault-free condition, and everything worked as it was designed to. breakfast was very good, with a wide selection and ample seating. i did think the internet was a little expensive, however upon arrival we took up the offer of a breakfast/internet package of $75sgd per day, but this had to be purchased for the entire duration of the stay, not just selected days. would i stay at the york hotel again in the future?.... absolutely.
Hotel Feature Tip:
The Premier Rooms are perfect for families, and well worth the extra expense!

the location was perfect - walking distance to Orchard Rd, the MRT and bus stops. It was also a great central location to everywhere by Taxi, everything else is average, though the service was fine I must say. The rooms are comfortable but seem old. the shower tab was old and loose. I think this hotel needs a total renovation.

We book for queen bed but turn out to be twins bed!
