we have stayed in this hotel twice and this is the third time we booked with this hotel. we usually arrived the hotel at late hours and we really appreciate the efficiency of the staff at the reception so that we can quickly rest comfortably in the room after the tiring journey.
Shopping Tip:
Easy access to Mt.Elizabeth Hospital.

Clean and nice hotel, good value but the price they charge for the internet would make it the same price as better hotels in the area.

location not to far from orchard road. the front desk are not to helpful, we stayed for nights with my wife, they gave us two seperate single beds, you have to hassle and keep insisting till they check they do have room with queen size available

Big & clean room. Nothing special from this hotel.
Location is behind Far East Plaza on the Scott rd, but it's up on the hill around 5 minutes walk.
The hotel provided a shuttle bus to the Universal Studio but it actually part of a travel agent.
Shopping Tip:
It's okay to stay here just for 1 night since you will be tired already walking up & down the hill

The location of the hotel was great. Just 5 mins walk away is orchard road. Over there you have a great variety of food and lotsa shopping to choose.
The hotel staff were not very friendly. They seemed too busy. But that was ok.
The room was huge. we gt a deulux room. they had no lack of space. the toilet was quite small but it was clean.
overall it was a good value for your money.

Great location, old hotel but renovated
Just up the road from Orchard Road

got a last minute booking at the york hotel and was able to get a good rate compared to other hotels in the area. hotel is right next to mt. elizabeth hospital and up the road from orchard. no frills stay. great location because all the shopping is within walking distance. the hotel is old compared to others but slightly larger to newer hotels for the price.

Centrally located,nice spacious rooms close to Orchard road.
Good facilities with good restaurants,child friendly and quiet surroundings.Got a sweet deal from Agoda, two hundred dollars per night,20-30 % cheaper than most hotels in the area.
Good service with friendly helpful staff.easy to get a taxi and a 10 minute walk from MRT.

Very close to Orchard road,5-7 minute walk

We came as a family of 5 for a short vacation. We booked a superior room but were surprisingly upgraded into Premier rooms, which was really nice. So this review is based on our stay at the Premier rooms. The rooms were spacious, well maintained (carpet and beds were neatly groomed and smelled clean) with interiors tastefully done. The look of the rooms make you feel happy you are staying at York Hotel. The rooms look so comfortable that you are tempted to just stay in all day. The Premier room also had a walk in closet and a spacious bathroom that had 2 sets of sink and toilet (his and hers). The staff were friendly and nice and could speak fairly good english. The only thing that was lacking was the free internet access. You have to purchase a prepaid internet card for about SGD 8 for 2 hours of internet access. Other than that, our stay at York Hotel was very much enjoyable. Location wise, York Hotel is very close to Orchard Road, which is an extra point still.
Travel tip:
Food - Try Irvin's Pumpkin Prawns (Irvin's is in the River Valley Rd. area, i think).
- There are also a lot of nice restaurants to try at the Mandarin Gallery in Orchard
Getting Around - if you are coming from the hotel, you can always ask the Concierge to assist you in getting a cab. But of course, it is always cheaper to take the MRT and the bus. Very easy to get around the city.
Shopping - for quality shopping, shop in malls along Orchard. for cheap finds, you can go to Bugis Village, Mustafa/Little India, China Town - all accessible by MRT.
