A big disappointment
Supervisory staff very professional. Concierge helpful.
My wife and I were looking forward to a weekend of shopping (for her) and relaxation (for me) in Singapore. So we chose the York Hotel because we thought the location (based on Google map) was convenient for both activities. We were thoroughly disappointed and frustrated as the room was smelly (and the cleaning staff did not seem too concerned), the food and dining staff service were both terrible (and overly expensive, even by Singapore standard). The only saving grace was the fact that managers kept apologizing for their staff's underperformance. But I rather they did it right the first time.

one rude staff spoilt the experience
location, location. location
room access and lift access to floor not configured properly, on enquiry staff confiscated card without attempt to establish identity of occupant. poor service recovery despite informing two separate duty managers. Not recommended to stay unless you know your rights and demand to be served properly.
