the york hotel is at short distance from orchard road. the entrance to the hotel is commensurate with the rest: chilly, but functional. the huge restaurant is so cold that one wonders if any food will be warm. the room is standard, no frills. wifi is not complementary (sgd 18 poer 24 hours). the bathroom starts to become dated.
ok for a 2-night stay, but preferably not longer.

If you want to stay near Orchard Road without breaking the bank this hotel is a good choice. Note however that the walk back to the hotel is slightly uphill and might be too tiring after a whole day out spent shopping.
The room itself is spacious and clean, but I was surprised that they did not supply a toothbrush and toothpaste in my room.
Wifi, like with many other hotels in Singapore is not complimentary, and is chargeable by the hour / day / month.

The hotel has good location and it is walking distance to orchard road. Moreover, the hotel is just a walking distance away from MRT and Buses. The room are cozy and people are friendly. We would recommend everyone to stay at this hotel as the price is also reasonable for such a good location.

Only 10 minutes walk to Orchard rd and MRT station. The hotel is good for tourists. Very easy to find foods. The room is clean and comfort. Service is good also. Good value for money.

Stayed for our anniversary weekend. The hotel is located behind the Paragon Mall, and was within close walking distance. The only drawback was there were no public transport, i.e. bus, near the area, although public taxis are available. Close to Orchard Road. Highly recommended.
Shopping Tip:
The hotel is located near the shopping areas at Orchard Road.

The location is excellence, its very close to the main shopping district of singapore, and also very close to the main hospital and clinics in Singapore. For family with young children the big spacious room is an answered prayer. Ideal for family who plan both sighseeing and medical check up in single trip

York hotel provided huge room that come with bathtub. We like it the things that we encounter is we actually request one queen or king size bed instead of 2 separate bed. Once we check in and noticed this we request to change room immediately once we check in. But the counter replied our request can only be changed the next morning. Other than that it is quite comfortable hotel. We lost our washing clothes soaps once we transfer room when we checked it with the counter they simply said the housekeeper does not see the soap box that we described. We think that the housekeeper might already throwed it

This is a functional hotel good for one night's stay.
Its an older hotel that appeared to be reasonably maintained and on a quiet street near Orchard Road.
I had requested a king bed and upon arrival and was told they only had rooms with double beds or I could take a smoking room with a king bed. I took the smoking room with a king bed in the smoking room, but regretted it later. It was my decision.
