The hotel is conveniently located near the Dhoby Ghaut MRT station (just five minutes walk), the rooms are spacious and clean, the bathroom is nice also, and the staff is helpful enough. The hotel also has a swimming pool in case you want to do some laps.

Their breakfast (although free) needs more variety. You'll probably get tired of eating the same food if you stay there for a long time. They have limited English channels on their TV.

The YWCA is the perfect place to stay for any traveler on a budget. It's very affordable considering its location (near Orchard Road). The hotel is just a five-minute walk away from the Dhoby Ghaut MRT station. It's also very near malls such as Park Mall and Plaza Singapura. The hotel room is spacious and clean, even its toilet and bath. The room has a comfy bed, small TV, mini-ref, and a safety box - enough amenities for any traveler. And in case you don't have a compatible plug in their outlet, you can always borrow an adaptor from their helpful staff. Just don't expect much for their breakfast.

Shopping Tip : You can do your last-minute shopping at the nearby Park Mall or Plaza Singapura where you can find good bargains.

Location - Near Orchard Road

Nobody assists on luggage during check-in and check-out. Breakfast Buffet - limited choice of food.

The hotel looks good in picture. But actually the rooms are small, bed is small, furnitures quite old. Nobody assisted us in bringing our luggages to our room and outside the hotel during check-in and check-out. Then again, nobody assisted us in calling a cab in going to the airport. We then felt that this is a self service hotel! Breakfast buffet have lmited food choices. Poor breakfast food choices. I think the hotel rate is expensive as compared with the services & accomodation rendered.

The location of YWCA fort canning is in good location to MRT train station and less than 5min walk to Orchard road shopping centre. It is in a very good location, within less than 5min walk to Dhoby Ghaunt central(NE6 AND NS 24) train station. From Dhoby Ghaunt you can catch NE24 (changing at city hall) to fantastic Sentosa island which takes approximately 30min. Also from Dhoby Ghaunt there are free shuttle bus to little india and China town which was a really good way to save money on transportation. I recommend you get a tourist travel pass from the airport when you arrive. That works out much cheaper if you are going to travel around the city. So much to do around the hotel and so many places to eat. The hotel breakfast was really nice and hotel staff was friendly.

When we arrived at the hotel, we were given a room with 2 single bed rather than a double bed as we requested. They put the 2 single beds together but the beds kept moving apart which was uncomfortable. The room was an upgrade as there did not have a double room but it appeared a bit dirty. The TV remote control was especially very dirty. When walking through the side road to the hotel at night it seems a bit dark but as it is Singapore it felt safe. But I will recommend you walk through Park mall to Orchard road rather than the side road.

Overall YWCA is a reasonably priced hotel, located in Orchard road. For the price you are paying for the hotel, the location is absolutely fantastic. The MRT (Dhody Ghaunt) train station is good link to Singapore airport, Sentosa Island and most of the attractions in Singapore. The hotel breakfast is really nice and the staff are friendly. Didn't get a chance to use the swimming pool as we were out all day but it looked clean. There are so many restaurant to eat around the hotel and so much to do.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you are on a holiday/tourist I recommend you get a tourist travel pass as it is a cheaper way to tour Singapore city.
