Busan
The busy port city of Busan is a melting pot of Korean culture with a strong sense of history and a warm tropical climate. The majority of Busan hotels are easily reached from Busan International Airport and travelers arriving by air will be pleasantly surprised by the efficiency of the airport taxis and shuttle services linking the airport with downtown Busan. Sasans-gu and Haeundae Beach are two of the city's most popular locales.
Busan is called the summer capital of Korea since its six beaches attract an influx of domestic holiday-makers. Luxury Busan hotels line the beach at Haeundae, while Gwangalli Beach is famous for its cafes, bars, and restaurants. The area around Pukyong National University and Kyungsung University also boasts a healthy café culture fuelled by college students and young people taking a caffeine break between classes.
Underneath the urban landscape typical of a large Asian port city is a thriving metropolis populated by warm and friendly people. Hotels in Busan often reflect the general feel of the city and visitors will be impressed with the attentive service and delicious cuisine on offer.
Many Busan attractions lie outside city limits and make for great day trips or overnight excursions. Geumjeongsan mountain to the west is a popular weekend hiking spot for Busan residents and Dongnae Oncheon is a natural spa area with many baths, hotels, restaurants, clubs and shopping areas.
