was good room size but wifi wasn't that great even thought it stated wifi in rooms the hotel staff said only lan was avialable to me.

Strange Area, Old Hotel, Very nice staff
The stuff was very nice, convenience store near the reception and in front of the hotel

The biggest plus in this hotel is the staff. The receptionists are very nice and all are speaking english, the cleaning ladies are very nice and the people in the convinience store down there are the same. But to be honest, thats all. When you stay longer than 1-2 days you actually won´t see the problems anymore.But if you are very picky with your hotel, I wouldn t choose this hotel.
a) The first room I got smelled horribly like smoke (level 5). After I asked the receptionist for a new room, I got a room on level 6 that was slightly better.
b) (New room) The bathroom was really nice but the main room even though enough of space was problematic.
The minibar contained 2 bottles of free water but the bar itself looked like almost breaking down. All furniture was quite old and showed sign of a long usage.
c) Looking out of the window you are greeted with a really ugly view on a carpark...but those carparks that are used for decades extensively. If you closed your eyes and looked a little bit up, you were greeted with a view on nice montains.
d) Everywhere things with the old name of the hotel are in use, it is not very important but strange.
e) In total it was clean. But you should consider not to look to exactly, else you find here or there strange stains.
f) The room key is quite old fashioned. I seriously don t trust the safety of those keys as they can be copied easily.
g) In the basement there seems to be a karaoke bar. If you close the window at night, maybe it won t bother you. Actually it seems like it is in use the whole night. If you have problems sleeping, this might make your stay unbarable.
h) The hotel is near to some foodstalls and convinience stores. For going to the next subway station it is a little bit far.
So you need always to take a taxi which is really affordable.
i) In regard of all points the price is really too much. I stayed in Seoul in much better hotels for much cheaper prices.

Most important to remember are two things:
a) Try to get a room on the level 6, those rooms seem to be slightly better than the others.
b) This hotel was called GARDEN HOTEL before. So when you are trying to tell a taxi driver to go to the hotel, first try HOTEL THE PALACE as the destination and if that doesn t work try GARDEN HOTEL.

Nice, clean, and romantic hotel
Good clean rooms with big window. A very nice view of mountain from the window

to find out the hotel is bit difficult because it is far from subway station (20-30 mins walk). But we liked the hotel, the staff was kind and can speak English. The rooms are comfortable, but no computer. But if you are carrying your laptop you can connect it. Overall satisfied. For tourist, not single good attraction near by.
