1. convenience - everything seems so near to the hotel, myeongdong, 2 train lines, a lot of coffee houses, convenience stores.
2. the staff - they were great and very helpful, then even helped call a van for us, since our luggage doesn't fit in the cab.
3. clean rooms and toilet - these are very important.
4. there are 2 computers with internet access at the lounge, so you can keep connected. Astoria hotel is a value for money hotel, with the amount you are paying, you don't expect to stay in a 5 star hotel right? I think the staff are very efficient and helpful. I like the clean rooms and toilets - albeit it being small. I like the 2 internet stations at the lounge, since after being outside the whole day, i can keep in touch with my friends and family. The place is also very convenient, near myeongdong (10mins walk), near 2 train lines (orange and blue), near family mart (convenience store), and a lot of coffee houses around (that you would need if its winter). So if i do go back to Seoul, Astoria hotel would still be my choice of hotel.

great location. near myeongdong night market. friendly and courteous staff. speaks functional english. drinks in the fridge are refilled everyday for free. hotel is quite old. needs renovation. toilet sink has cracks. overall, i'm pleased with my stay at astoria hotel. it is near chungmuro and myeongdong stations. the night market is walking distance. there is a view of namsan tower from outside the window. the room is cleaned everyday. there is heater for the toilet and shower. the tv has english channels. there is a bar downstairs and an italian restaurant.

Location - walking distance to main food area and the metro station. There is a club downstairs but we had no problem with it during our 3 night stay. This is a good hotel with friendly, helpful staff. When checking in, the staff changed our room so we could be on a floor with internet access. The room was comfortable and spacious.
The hotel is within walking distance of the main food area and shopping area and a 2min walk from the metro station if you want to go further. I would stay at this hotel again.
