Had a very good stay at banana backpackers. It is clean, safe and affordable. It's also very near anguk station and chandeokgung palace. The staff speak excellent english, so communication is not a problem. Fast wifi is always a plus.
The thing that i appreciate the most about this hostel is that it is not an uphill walk, and they have elevator service. I know it is such a small thing, but it is such a relief not to stagger up flights of stairs after a day of endless walking.
Overall, will recommend.

We got an early check-in but the room 201 was small for a double. The staff changed our room to a bigger one with a better layout which we appreciated. The location is on a quiet side street and was easy to find with their website map as a guide.
We really liked having use of a washing machine and the kitchen. The room was not big but it was adequate and the heat warmed up the room nicely.
We took the airport subway which required two changes and over an hour but it was the cheapest way in.

Room was comfortable but a little bit squeaky. Aircon placement was a little weird as there was a wall blocking the airflow to the top of the bed, so my legs were always cold while my upper body was feeling a little hot.
Staff were friendly and could speak good English. Location of backpackers was ideal, just round the corner from the subway and Insa-dong.

they are located quite inside of the street but walking to shopping areas is still not far than expected.
they have elevator which serve to the 3rd floor and 4th floor onwards belongs to other hotel.
they have pc and tv for all to use. it would be nice for a group to stay as well.
friendly staffs will help you take polaroid for memory..

Nice room for the money

I liked the Hotel, even though it can be a bit hard to find if you don't ask for direction. It's located in walking distance of the Anguk station (5min) and have a lot of local food places to visit in the alleys around it. I used the metro system to go around and visit the different locations, and Anguk is not far from most of the central historical locations.
I bought a single room and it was clean and with hot shower, but the bed was a bit hard. But overall good value for money.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Take your time learning how the metro station system works, saves money and time in the long run.

Perfect for backpackers

I decided to get a single room since it was not much of an extra expense. The place is certainly a hostel, but it's clean and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I came not knowing what to do since it was cold and rainy. They provided a helpful map of the area and made a great suggestion based on my interests. The room was not completely dark-some curtains would have been appreciated. At also in an area where many other hostels are, so someone on the street can help you find it if you have issues. Oh, and it's near Insa-dong and a palace! Just try it.

It was really unforgettable moment to stay here. With such reasonable price, we could get lovely service as well cozzy n very tidy room. And also, it was very close to Seoul historical sites such as Gyeongbokgung, Cheongwadae, dan several shopping districts, eg: Dongdaemun, Myeongdong, etc. For backpackers, it was really an appropriate place to stay.
