I enjoyed my stay at the Dongdaemoon Hotel Seoul. I had a single room with a good sized bed on the 3rd floor. I chose the 3rd floor as it was supposed to be no-smoking, though there was a fasint odor of tobacco smoke nonetheless. Drawbacks were the noise from the traffic outside and from adjoining rooms. However, overall my impressions of the Dongdaemoon Hotel Seoul were mostly favorable.
The men's sauna on the 2nd floor. Comfortable and large bed.
Rather thin walls on the 3rd floor.

The location of the hotel cannot be bettered as it stands just above a subway station. The rooms are spacious especially the doubles and the staff were exceptionally polite and friendly. The upper rooms are quieter than those below. The hotel probably needs a redecoration but is extremely good value for a short or mid-length stay.

This Dongdaemoon Hotel, which known before as Best Western Dongdaemoon (they're still using the Best Western logo for some equipments) and now runs by Eastern Hotel Groups, has the most special points with the location. Just beside the dongdaemun station exit no 7, you can hang out til any hours in this part of the city that never sleeps without getting afraid walking far to reach the hotel. The only disturbing thing is the aircon and the airport busstop which is quite far when you're lifting heavy baggage.
The location is great, just outside the dongdaemoon station (line 4).
You can hang out shopping, eating and watching movies til early morning without getting afraid of walking far to the hotel.
It has a free internet connection.
The staff are helpful and can speak English.
7 Eleven store has a connecting door to it.
The aircon is not so good.
The dongdaemoon gate renovation is disturbing (the hotel is just in front of it).
The airport bus stop is a bit far (5 mins walking) especially when you have a lot of baggage.
- Travel tip : When you're up for shopping at Dongdaemun area with almost every malls and cinemas open til 4 or 5 am, the location is the perfect choice.
And for the last day of staying, if you have many baggages, you better move to the hotel which has the airport shuttle bus stop in it cause the bus stop is quite far to lift baggage.

The hotel is conveniently located next to a subway station, and it is not too far from the airport shuttle bus station. The area is not as nice, but if you are looking for bargain/cheap shopping, it is totally the place to go. Concierge service was very good and helpful, there was free internet to use. The only one thing I did not like about the hotel is that the room was very old and it did not look clean.

I would recommend this hotel only if you don't plan on staying inside the hotel for too long and are mostly out touring around the city.
