Good hotel, very courteous staff

cool little hotel. the staff was great, and the rooms were very clean albeit a bit small, which shouldn't matter much since you should be out and about!
check-in time isn't until 2pm, so that was a bit inconvenient. all in all, it was very good hotel for the money (plus they had free wi-fi)!

Suitable for budget travellers seeking convenience
Convenient, good service, free internet
7.7
getting to the hotel can be a challenge initially as the hotel is tucked deep in the alley. however, navigating between the hotel and the subway station is a breeze once you know the location of the hotel.
the subway station is a 3 minutes walk from the hotel if you walk through the alley where several good local restaurants are located. however, this alley can be rather dark and deserted by 7.30pm and may not be a route of choice for solo or female travellers. the alternate route, via the busier street where several stalls selling street treats, is not a bad alternative. it is longer, but will only take 1-2 mins more.
the service in the hotel is good and prompt, very polite. most of the staff are able to converse in english, some are fluent at it. the availability of hot and cold water dispenser at level 2 of the hotel, as well as washing machines is a plus for me. chocolates are also given as complimentary on a daily basis and they even surprised me with a free gift (a thumb drive) at the end of my stay.
the room is rather small, but just suffice for a solo traveller. there is no wardrobe provided, thus packing and storing might be a problem for long-stayers. the free internet and good cable channels are useful in keeping boredom away for solo travellers.
one thing that grossed me out is the moisturiser provided by the hotel. the moisturiser smelled stale and i believed it was not changed for the entire length of my stay. it is a disappointment, given the thoughts that the hotel gave to the comfort of its customers and the s. korean's interest in beauty products. however, i guess it is a small matter since those who are into moisturisers will probably be too busy trying out new moisturisers bought in korea (its a heaven for beauty products!!) to be concerned about moisturisers provided by the hotel.
Travel tip:
There is a good restaurant serving superb grilled fish along the alley leading to the subway station. It has pictures showing its fame. Do try it at the restaurant located nearer to the hotel. Its fish is grilled much better and is more tender as compared to its neighbours.

Excellent hotel, great location, small rooms
location, cleanliness, friendly staff
8.3
Doulos Hotel is located near some small alleys so you might have to search a bit on arrival. But that's the only disadvantage of the hotel.
The rooms are clean. The bathroom is everything you need. The staff of the hotel is very friendly. The breakfast is -especially for Westerns- nice.
Would stay here again!

Good location and hotel, but not good surrounding. The room is a little bit small but clean and tidy, it is good if you do not have many carriers, like business trip.

Disappointed with Seoul. Very few people speak any English.I expected it to be something like japan which I like very much & have been to 3 times in 3 years with very limited Japanese.
