Location Location Location. Good value for Money.

Rooms are small and dated but clean. Bathroom is completely plastic. no soundproofing so very noisy including traffic noise.has a very old look and feel, lobby is shabby.

Great if you are not korean, you can see english signboards and international food places. step out for Subway station, airport bus station and everything you need is closeby. has very good indian and chinese restaurants inside. It is good if you are budget travelor and even for small family. If you keep your expectations low, stay out the whole day and come back just to spend your night, this place is great.

Restaurant Tip : Ponchos Mexican has great Mexican food and beer. A must try for one of the nights in Seoul.

location, ease of availability of all types of restaurants and nightlife

the rooms (and bathrooms) are small in size

This was my first stay at Hamilton Hotel. It is situated in the heart of Itaewon which is probably the best area of Seoul for a tourist or a foreign visitor to live in. The vicinity is surrounded by diverse types of restaurants hence all sorts of food is available, also close by are pubs, stripclubs etc.

Position

Rooms may need renewval. Noising in the night.

Hotel is definetly not luxurious but is clean and affordable. Staff may need a little bit more of training. It is located in the busy area of Itaewon. From Airport there is a shuttle bus that carry you to the hotel door. The subway station is in front of the hotel entrance, there are a lot of little shops around and the hotel itself share a little shopping mall. Restaurants and bars for every pocket fill the area.

Shopping Tip : Night street Market for bargainers

The Hotel Staff showed a great deal of courtesy in all aspects. If you need anything (iron, converter), they will provide it! The sauna was excellent, as a foreigner, i did not know the process but they helped me show me the way. Great food, great location plus they validate parking. Readily accessible transportation close to the hotel.

The room was a little older in style. The noise around the hotel was fine for me but for others, it may be a problem.

Upon arrival, the hotel staff helped me with everything. My single room was very nice and very clean. The location of the hotel has everything from shopping to transportation. English Pubs and Western restaurants all around if that's your thing. Tour information is provided at the hotel with superb directions to wherever you want to go. The staff was very nice when i checked out directing me to the hotel bus area. 4 stars for me!

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Be sure to ask for items needed ahead of time like an iron or a volt converter. Itaewon is hopping so be prepared for the diversity of the area.

It's located beside subway exits. It's clean. Everything (food, shopping, coffee, dessert place, subway, bus stops) is very accessible, as in just outside the hotel. Helpful staff.

Some of the receptionist have very poor English. Internet is not free.

The location of the hotel is excellent - beside subway exits, bus stops, shops just outside the hotel, restaurants, dessert place and coffee shops. I had a problem with the staff during my first day - I asked how much is the charge for the internet access per hour, they (Concierge guy, Front desk lady, bell boy who fixed the cable in my room) told me "It's free." I found out the next day that they charge 12000won from noon to noon the next day.

Restaurant Tip : Free internet access (wifi) in coffee shops like Starbucks which is just across the road.

clean, very accessible

no free internet access, cable for the internet in the room is not working.

The location of the hotel is great! Many of the people you see around Itaewon are foreigners. You will sometimes see staffs who are snobs. They are able to communicate in English, but are not so entertaining. There are shops selling souvenirs - shirts, keychains, at the end of the road near the hotel. The prices are acceptable than the shopping center just beside the hotel. Money changers at the end of the road outside the hotel give good rates.

Centrally located convenient hotel

None

I stayed for three nights. It is the best location if you want to stay in Itaewon. Everything is at door step. Room in which I stayed was neat and comfortable. There is a shuttle bus that services it from the airport from 5A or 11B stops; at $14 each way, it is well worth it considering the airport is VERY far away and too expensive otherwise by taxi. The bus from airport drops off across the street from hotel. Comortable economical hotel for short stay.

Great location, clean rooms, local restaurants and access to transport.

In summer time the afternoon pool parties with loud music can be disturbing if you wish to spend some quiet time in your room. No free internet access.

The Hamilton Hotel while probably not the best value for money in Seoul is good value for a hotel located in the Itaewon area. The rooms are spacious and clean and its location just next to the underground train station and airport bus stop makes the hotel one of the most convenient places to stay. Itaewon is full of restuarants, bars and nite clubs and is one of the nite life centres of Seoul. The local restuarants offer a great varity of food and the quality of the local korean food is fantastic. I would recomend the Itaewon Hotel to anyone who wants a clean place to stay and easy access to transport and nite life.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The airport bus stops directly across the road from the Hamilton Hotel and is the most inexpensive and easiest way to get to and from the airport. You can purchase your ticket at the airport for the trip into Seoul and the Hamilton Hotel sells tickets for the return journey to the airport.

For rooms with twin beds only, it was still a nice looking room (though it looked only a little bit cramped because of the other furniture). The bathroom was nice and big. There were a decent amount of tv stations. There was an American plug available for all american electronics and free wifi.

The business center was a little lacking and slow. It also would've been nice to learn about how to take the bus to that hotel from the airport (we learned about that from friends after paying too much for a taxi). I heard you had to pay for the pool, therefor it was never used.

I had no idea what anything would be like here because I have never been to Korea before, but Itaewon was great because it was in a nice (though blatantly touristy area) with a decent amount of bars and easy access to the metro transit (and bus stops). The rooms were nice and the hotel was clean. If I ever came back to the area, I would stay there again.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Very easy to get to places like Tower 63 or Seoul Olympic Park.

Location; good for transport to airport and around the city; clean rooms

Some rooms a little small for the price

The Hamilton is a very practical choice for staying in the Itaewon area of Seoul. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and hotel staff were friendly. I didn't use many of the hotel's amenities because there is almost anything you can want within a short walking distance: restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. The pool is very nice, but it's popular and crowded sometimes. The people at the pool are there for fun, so it can be a good time. (On weekends there's a running/shouting conversation with the rooftop customers at the Nashville Pub across the street.)Location provides most of the value of staying at the Hamilton; it's worth it,

Restaurant Tip : Buddha's Belly Thai restaurant just behind the hotel serves excellent food. Kind of pub-like, so people are there to have fun as well.

comfortable rooms, clean bathrooms, plenty of water pressure and good air conditioning. Great pool with plenty of weekend activity.

unable to look through frosted windows, so unable to view the surrounding areas from the room. No free amenities like shampoo/rinse. At the time, no restaurant available

For those wishing to stay in the center of Itaewon, the Hamilton is the place to be. Good service, centrally located, helpful staff. A plentiful variety of eating establishments and entertainment venues within five minutes walk. The airport express bus is across the street and the subway is close at hand. Reasonable price, good service, worth a revisit.

Restaurant Tip : Try "The Patio" for a great breakfast across the street from the Hamilton.

good location nightlife, both gay and straight tour operators offering tours from the hotel

The service The water pressure

This hotel has a good location, centrally located in the "foreigner" Itaewon district of Seoul. There's a subway station literally in front of the hotel and many korea, indian and western restaurants across the street. The hotel is also in close proximity to some of Seoul's best nightlife, both gay and straight. The hotel is also a base for tour operators offering tours to the DMZ and other attractions. The service at the hotel wasn't great and the staff wasn't very friendly. The rooms are old and in need of renovations and the shower had poor water pressure. If you are just using the hotel as a crash pad, I would recommend it as long as you are ok with the water pressure issue. Also take note that the room is not equipped with soap or shampoo so you should bring your own.

Hotel Feature Tip : If there's a fire, using the rapelling kit in the room to flee!

The Hamilton Hotel is nicely located in the center of Itaewan and makes a great local headquarters for shopping and visiting this exciting area of Seoul.

Free internet access is a requirement for the business traveller and tourist alike.

The Hamilton Hotel offered a nice, comfortable place from which to explore Itaewan and the rest of Seoul. The staff were very pleasant to work with and there were no communications of any kind. The in house restaurants are efficient and offer nice menus and great food. The only thing I would like to have seen was internet access at no charge. Todays travellers need this to stay in touch with associates and friend and the fees seemed unnecessary to me.
