Shilla Hotel, Seoul

We ordered mushroom ravioli at their premier French restaurant, which is apparently very good, and was recommended to us by the concierge, so we paid $40 per plate for our meal. When our ravioli arrived, they used wonton skins instead of pasta, and the mushrooms were not cooked properly. The meal had the texture of rubber. Also, for our $40, they gave us only 3 raviolis, and this was supposedly a main course. The food is overpriced, and it tastes horrible. As for the service, the hotel was very crowded so no one bothered to even greet us at the door, and the waiter wanted us to change our table once we were already seated just so some other people could sit there. They seemed to be more interested in the money than their customers. Also, the room did not have an ironing board, and we had to call housekeeping for one.

What can I say? It was a perfectly adequate business hotel. Not the most uplifting or inspiring of places, but not as depressing as some either. If you are staying in Seoul for a couple of days you can probably do worse than stay in this hotel. The location was convenient for my meetings.

Travel with wife. I was married before and this book made it absolutely泊MARITAKATTA hotel. Shuttle was convenient to get anywhere near the duty free shop with. When you go to Korea next time you are泊MARITAI hotel.
