The check-in is a bit too late ( 3pm ) even i request for early check-in during booking dont help. But still okay.
i arrived the hotel on 27 oct 2009 at 9am. i took the airport express bus 6005 ( 9000 won per adult) from airport to the hotel. The bus stop was only 10 metres away from the hotel. The staffs was very polite and helpful to keep my belongings till check in time @ 3pm. The subways is only 15 metres away. Just need to exit from the side entrance and turn right. On the ground level , there is a 7-11 store. If needed to purchase more can also travel to lotte mart (much cheaper) at seoul station which is 25mins by foot. Exit by the side entrance, turn left and straight all the way. The seoul station will be on the right. Lots of good food, exit by side entrance.
Restaurant Tip : The restaurant within sight from side entrance. (Tried 3 of them , all almost the same) Charging 9000 - 12000 won for each person for bbq pork/beef. But my family prefer to walk further down from the side entrance left. after vabien 3 , will have a stretch of 4 - 6 restaurant. prefer the last second one. Their serving are very generous and they even give us a free kimchi soup (hardly such treatment in korea).

Connectivity to airport is excellent with the Airport Bus in front of the hotel and subway station nearby.
The hotel was better than expected, the staff was cooperative and efficient.
Rooms were spacious, clean and well maintained.
There are plenty of places to eat around.
City center and shopping areas are walking distance away -- the hotel surrounding are reasonable.
Stayed at the hotel for a whole week and am very satisfied.

- Good location (near Kwanghwamun and central Seoul)
- Big room, friendly front-desk service
- Convenience store inside the building
- Airport bus stop right in front of building
- Would have even nicer if the floors had been just a tadbit newer or refurbished
- The neighborhood was a bit dead on Sunday
The Vabien II is a good deal overall. It's conveniently located near central Seoul, just a short taxi ride to Kwanghwamun Station or City Hall. In fact, if you have about 20 minutes to spare, you can walk to either of those locations.
There is a 7-Eleven and a few restaurants in the building, and a few bakeries and/or coffee shops within about a 5-minute walk.
The rooms were spacious, with a built-in washing machine and kitchenette. The bathrooms were fairly large and very clean.
I enjoyed my stay there and would recommend it for travelers who want a nice room, centrally located, without the price of a luxury hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Located just a short taxi ride from City Hall, Kwanghwamun, Kyungbok Palace, Duksu Palace, Chongro, Seoul Station, etc.
