Riverina review
Excellent beach, good swimming pool, good location, just 50 kms from Colombo, ample garden space. Good TV reception and mini fridge. Good for children

You more or less get what you pay for. Great location close to a sandy stretch of beach which was good for swimming even for kids.
Food was good but choice was limited.
The staff was courteous but have been coached by the management to make sure you dont stick off without paying your bills, which could be pretty anoying for most honest guests. Over staffed with waiters who keep asking you the same things, they could be better organised.
Travel tip:
Many other star class hotels nearby which one could drop by for a meal. A few local courteous wenders on the beach, but watch out for a few touts looking for a quick buck too.

Quick and efficient check in, welcome drink, very friendly staff, rooms are clean, good aircon, great room service. Lots of Russian and Polish tourists. Wine stores and Food City grocery store is just 5 minutes took-took drive from the hotel (or 15 minutes walk). Beach is very convenient, though no hotel beach chairs right on the beach, you have to borrow them from beach boys (charge 500 rps, but you can bargain down to 200 rps).
Restaurant Tip:
For good dining and cheaper massage services it is worh walking to the right down the road - you will find both local and "western" type of cafes and dining halls.
