Fantastic setting and room and great service

I had a great time at Casa Colombo when visiting the city recently for a business trip. The concept of the hotel is special and unique in the city. A highly hip, modern, funky hotel set in colonial building setting. The room I stayed in, a Traveller Suite, was very big, with a separate living room. I enjoyed the great high-tech music setup and tv system. There were funky unusual little touches all over the room. Breakfast was high quality and filling served in an a la carte style anywhere in the hotel. The topping on the stay to make it a truly memorable experience was the excellent service provided by my personal butler Aroon which was attentive and yet unobtrusive, supported by the other staff and with the further helpful attention of the Manager. I very much look forward to returning to the hotel on a future trip, with hopefully the family in tow.

we stayed 3 days in the hotel. i could select about 6 types of breakfast. all of them are delicious, but too much quantity. i could ate half of them. i reccomend sri lankan curry.
at night, we can't have hot water shower. on the morning, there are no trouble having hot shower. shower must be fixed.
casa colombo is a boutique hotel, so don't expect utility. appearance is nice. there was note pc in the room and printer. it was helpfu.
location is not so bad. but not famous among taxi drivers. we had trouble to tell the driver hotel location. bring the map is better solution.

The hotel was undergoing refurbishment which we were not informed about. There was no bar so drinks were in lounge which lacked atmosphere
The breakfast was very ordinary, on positive the fruit was good, the eggs over cooked
The suite itself was very spacious and the architectural features were appreciated.
The coffee machine did not work nor did the stereo. The shower room could do with more light
The out door jacuzzi ws starting to crack and will require replacing soon.
The bed was excellent, comfortable and a good size.
No spa available as of yet
Restaurant Tip:
The seafood restaurant at the cinAmon hotel was very popular with locals and expats, great old and a good busy vibe

The staff here is outstanding--waiting to help you every minute of your stay. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms fantastic.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Book any sightseeing trips with the hotel--they do a great job.

Stayed at Casa Colombo while I was in the city on business for 3 nights. It was a huge surprise! Very unassuming place .... when one walks in, you are completely blown away with the decor and the design of this old heritage home. The suites are each done differently and moreover, completely equipped with laptop, printer, stationery and the best part ...free WIFI! Also the butlers are very helpful and ensure you get the best service. Quite a change from the busy hotel lobbies one encounters.. this place feels more peaceful! Would highly recommend!
