Located adjacent to Galle Face Green promenade and with views over the Indian Ocean, this property offers a high level of service and security. Situated right next to the World Trade Center and the President’s Residence, the hotel enjoys the most secure part of the city. Close by, visitors will find the public beach while special hotel taxis are provided to ferry visitors to the town center or the airport, just a 45-minute drive away. Great breakfast, pleasant rooms, lovely view of the Presidential Palace
The buttons in the lift are funky, tend to only work on one side. Parts of the hotel are a bit run down and not maintained like the staircase... And there doesn't seem to be much nearby in terms of shops or restaurants.
If you enjoy staying near the ocean, the Galadari is a pleasant choice. Some of the rooms have great views over the Presidential Palace, and it is a short walk across the street to the sea wall. The breakfast buffet is superb, the rooms are big and pleasant, and the gym reasonably well equipped though small. The staff are friendly and though the hotel looks fancy at first, it is not particularly pretentious. There are a range of restaurants for those who need more choices than the simple one in the lobby which offers dinner buffet or a la carte.
Hotel Feature Tip : If you have environmental objections to using plastic bottles of water, you can fill your bottle in the restrooms in the gym.

i stayed there in 2006 as well thats why i went there again but hotel is not maintaining its status
my experience in this hotel is not that pleasant as it was in 2006. the hotel has not mainatined its standard. buffet breakfast was ok.
when we checked in , it took them 2 hrs to give us room that too we did not get as per our requirement. we were with a child but we were compelled to live on smoking floor. we all were ompelled to become passive smoker for 2 days.
Restaurant Tip : it is very far from city , we diid not get food even in 1000 meters vicinity of the hotel.

I stayed at this hotel in 2006.I liked it that's why I again opted for it in 2009 but this time it was highly disappointing for the following reasons:
1-it took me 2 hrs to check-in, they kept us waiting as they did not have our booking details.
2-they lied that gym is not included in the package
3-they did not give us room on non smoking floor
4-the staff is highly non friendly
5-they are not maintaining their standards
I will never stay at this hotel in future.
Restaurant Tip : there is no restaurant in 1000 meters vicinity of the hotel.
