Near the harbour and also near all offices and banks.
Nightclub is horrible with the performer.Avoid it.
Hotel Grand Oriental is a heritage building.I was in this hotel in 2001,2008 and 2009.I like this hotel because of its location.The behaviour of the hotel staff is great.The ambience is also nice.I will come again for my business on june2009 and will stay at this hotel.Breakfast is also great with lot of variety.

Spacious and clean rooms. Friendly people.
The hotel can use a fresh paint and pay more attention to detail.
Grand Oriental is good value for money. Rooms are spacious and clean. Sanitary has been recently replaced and is working!Staff is very friendly. The hotel is located in the high safety area with high number of security checkpoints.The area is therefore very desolated which makes you feel like staying in ghost town.
Restaurant Tip : Seaspray restaurant at Galle Face Hotel is fantastic. Spectacular location at beachfront, good food and the hotel itself has great old world charm.

Colonial architecture, classical furniture in a good mood.
A little inconvenient location.
Old reminiscent of British colonial period hotel. That's newest hotel, nice stay at reasonable prices. Colombo before returning back to the days when passing through the AGODA had stayed at a fixed price. Here you get better is through.
