Very beautiful beach!

i love the beach a lot eventhough i am from a coastal town, so beach by right is not a hardly-seen thing for me, but... the scene at this beach is just so magnificient! love it a lot!
Travel tip:
Not in the city centre, but its quite convenient though, since it is locate nearby a main road, maybe 5~10 minutes walking you will find a lot of restaurants and also supermarket where locals will go.

I staid there for 3 nights,was booked for the fourth but left, I was traveling alone and I got a little tired n lonely of the place so left before the third night. The hotel is reasonable,prices are okay and the food is good. Sri Lankan Breakfast is exceptionally great.
Restaurant Tip:
There is a nice restaurant that serves great biryani towards the main road on the other side of the triangle style divide of the main road.

comfortable hotel, rooms were big enough for all the dive gear. hot water, clean rooms and bathrooms.
breakfast buffet was good.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
island scuba.net for diving, made for a real cool diving experience.

Staff couldn't do more to be helpful. Delicious meals served elegantly, there is a beach front restaurant as well as an indoor one. The room with ensuite shower was clean and adequate for the reasonable price.
I would have preferred a top sheet instead of the nice fluffy blanket, but that's a minor detail.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Don't expect free soaps, shampoos etc. Bring your own.

A standard hotel, location is very good, on the beach. Some of the staff were very pleasant. Would be nice if they could have internet access in the rooms. Also not much of a choice for breakfast for Vegetarian’s.
No lift, but staff help with the luggage.
would stay again!

Rubbish hotel next to the beach

Trying to have an after lunch siesta was impossible, woken by the lovely sound of concrete being hammered somewhere on the floor above me, which admitedley stopped after I had called reception, but by then I was grumpy and awake. The bathroom fittings were covered in black grease, disgusting to touch.
Was disappointed reception didn't warn me there would be Xmas traffic, making the taxi ride to the airport twice as long and very stressful. Oh, and there was no spa as advertised.

decent location on mt lavina area, very priced for one star hotel but it seems sri lanka is charging 25% taxes hence they over charge for their room.
the hotel room are very small 4x4 or so so be warned as i felted i was in jail cell paying $60, hotel breakfast is basic, scrambled egg with fruit , toast and coffee or tea, hotel restaurant is like all other front beach restaurant are way over priced for not so good quality food.
Restaurant Tip:
if u walked to main street which isnt far a way there is Buriani restaurant half block to the right for 350 Rubies, if u walk half block to the left there is queen cafe where meals are around less than 500 Rubies compared to the Hotels meals of 1500 Rubies average..

i was there only for one night, the hotel it's ok, nothing relay special. however the thing i enjoy the most it's that there is several seafood restaurants along the beach was great food and prices was reasonable.
