The stay was great but Vegetarian food was big problem. No wifi in the room. So every time had to go to lobby to access internet. But the rooms & hotel location really good & affordable.

I was very disappointed with the hotel. There is no wifi except in the lobby. The worst thing is that they dont provide you with a toothbrush and paste. You got to bring your own or wait till 9am for someone to buy one from the store.

Clean, spacious rooms & lots of empty promises

I stayed in the standard promo room for a couple of nights. According to the offer, the room features a range of things which in reality are empty promises. Free WiFi access in Rooms: No - WiFi only in lobby. Balcony/terrace: No (there is a chair in the open, public corridor that is "your balcony, mam"). Beach view: The window towards courtyard and partly beach is in milkglass, so the room is fairly bright but without a view (the room is well illuminated at night because there is nothing you can do against the roof light that shines through the window above the door...). Coffee/tea maker: No. Complimentary water: No. Ironing facilities: Maybe upon request? Also bed sheets (top sheets) and towels had to be requested (bed sheet had huge hole).
On the positive side: The room is VERY clean, spacious, convenient, no odors, good mattress and ok pillows. Fridge working. The open, local style shower working (hot water).
If you mind the train running from 5am until late right in front of the house, this hotel may not be your favorite.

We didn't have high expectations as we were paying a good price, but the room wasn't ready when we arrive. Had to ask for towels. The bathroom was a very low standard with ants and mozzies .

we were very disappointed with the quality of service provided
1. We did not get any free snack
2. Our room was accessible only through a balcony. If it is raining we cannot get out of our room.
3. As we were travelling with a young child, it is not safe. The out door unit of the air conditioner (for the adjacent room) is just in front of our door at the floor level. Children can poke their fingers in, and we have to pass through hot air every time we get out or come in.
4. We did not get any towels for the 4 days we stayed and waste bins stayed full.
5. We got a blanket without covers and hence full of dust.
6. The receptionist was very impolite when we raised these concerns.
7. We ordered room service only once. We ordered Tom Yam soup from the menu which cost about Rs. 290. But we were provided with cream of chicken soup for Rs. 400.
8. Found geckos inside the room.
9. This place is less like a hotel and more like a guest house.

i love the beach a lot eventhough i am from a coastal town, so beach by right is not a hardly-seen thing for me, but... the scene at this beach is just so magnificient! love it a lot!
Travel tip:
Not in the city centre, but its quite convenient though, since it is locate nearby a main road, maybe 5~10 minutes walking you will find a lot of restaurants and also supermarket where locals will go.

i had a bit of trouble with the check in because i had lost my card. i called in early that morning to ask if i would need my card to check in since i had booked it online and i was told i would. unfortunately, i wasnt in possession of it, and was expecting it to be delivered to me that day. however, bad news struck and i wouldnt be able to get it until the next day. i phoned again and explained the situation, and was told that the payment had been made and that i would not need it. this really irritated me because i had planned a lot of things to do that day and was unable to do them due to the staff's misinformation.
apart from that, the hotel was great. good rooms, good team, good atmosphere, lovely beaches.

A bit too much noise from outside the rooms, else reasonable rooms. Have to pass the railroad tracks to reach the beach but that is without danger as trains goes slow and can be spotted on long distance. Good beach with several good restaurants close by on the beach. About 15 to 30 minutes to reach shopping malls in Colombo with taxi or three-wheeler. Demand Metered three-wheeler to avoid price discussions, else agree on price in advance.
