A bit dissapointed with our stay here

We arrived quite late at night (around 1.30am) and were greeted by friendly staff. We'd booked the Ocean View suite for the first stop on our honeymoon around Sri Lanka. The staff said they had no rooms with double beds, only single beds. They then gave us our room key and said it was in the 'basement' which was 2 floors below the lobby on the ground floor. I guess I had pictured an ocean view room with a balcony to be on a higher floor. We got to the room and it smelt like the basement too. Very musty and a mouldy smell - The baggage boy said "tomorrow at 10am ask for a better room" so even he was admitting it wasn't great. We did that and they moved us to the 5th (top) story the next day, again with two single beds(!) but the room was much better. Make sure you're very clear that you want a high level floor if you book. The pool was being re-tiled when we were there so there was no pool which was a shame. Wi-fi is ok but you need to pay.

Very Relaxing
The spacious room, the food and Beach Location away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

It was very relaxing and rejuvenating. I would definitely go there with my family again in the near future. I had a Ocean View room on the ground floor. And this hotel being very famous for wedding reception, I could always see a wedding couple doing portraits just outside from my window. I didn't find it intrusive me being a wedding photographer too.
