The customer service take very long to reply and in some cases didnt even reply to emails. The breakfast menu was the same daily. The lunch and dinner buffets were over priced considering the menu. The hotel is far away from the city and transport from the hotel is not easily available.

Poor location and noisy and damp

Set about 40 minutes in a taxi or tuk from the centre of Colombo, (negotiate down to 1000 rps or less) and the roads are like hell. It's also a similar time from the airport. There's nowhere near and in an unattractive area, so really you're stuck in the hotel. Our room was damp and had pots filled with rodent poison which I suppose is better than rats or mice!
Buffet style food but we only had breakfast which was expensive by Sri Lankan standards. Woken at 5am by cleaners in a laundry cupboard nearby and then crowds of noisy chinese from 5.30am onwards, in the corridor outside our room, presumably off to the airport.

Huge ants biting if you sit around the pool

Room was extremely noisy (people above/on either side were very loud at all hours, lots of loud external music starting at 4:30AM), no internet/business center (as advertised), beach was nice but no amenities (i.e., needed to take own towels, no lounges, etc.)
