Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Lighthouse Hotel Galle Info
This spectacular place has outstanding ocean views and is the only hotel in Galle with its own stretch of beach for swimming. The more adventurous may want to take a safari in Uda Walawe National Park where they can see an amazing number of animals, including lots of elephants.
Designed by Geoffrey Bawa, who is perhaps Sri Lanka’s greatest modern architect, this place has two swimming pools, an outstanding spa, and spacious rooms have lovely pine wood floors and open air corridors. Dine at one of the three restaurants, and take meals with breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean.

Location is good near Galle fort and good ocean view. 2 swiming pools, Gym, good facilities, clean room!
Room, restaurant, facility are relatively good condition, but once I ask something like room service or house keeping , staff came very late and they did not handle it well.
Hotel facility is good and enough to stay for long days, but service is not good same as other Sri Lankan hotels. Once something inconvenient things happen, hotel staff cannot deal the matter quickly and confortably. Restaurant menu is poor, they have only buffet menu and only a few alacarte menu, so it is not good for long stay in this point. If you can be patient for a little low quality service, this hotel is recommendable.

Facing the sea, view to the pool. Location and the area.
Not too accomodating, found it quite expensive when compared to the rates given to locals and natives. Food selection was not that great.
We had a very young trainee to deliver our room service and he had no clue what was going on.
The food selection was not that apitizing and could do with a bit more.
But our over all stay was good.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Galle Fort is a must see.

wonderful views and incredible rooms
The hotel itself is wonderful. However, if you like to swim on a beach and want a beach front hotel this is not the one for you. The nearest swimming beaches are 5 km away in one direction and about 30 km in the other.
Galle was our last stop on our trip to Sri Lanka and our three nights at the Lighthouse were wonderful. I am a huge Geoffrey Bawa fan (the architect) and here one can see his mastery at play again. View corridors and shifting axes all through the property are wonderfully powerful and subtle where they need to be. The rooms were great - bathrooms opening up into the room to let in the views and natural light. The food was spectacular (contrary to previous advice from other travelers) and the breakfasts in the morning next to the crashing waves of the rocks was wonderful. All in all, a great place to stay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : great beach at Mirissa - about 35 km away - calm waters (all relative) and very untouched.
