Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Beautiful relaxing hotel right on the beach
Balcony view turtles buffet breakfast
8.3
We had booked this hotel as the culmination of our holiday in Sri Lanka and it turned out to be a great choice. We were given a room on the fourth floor, this gave us a great view out over the garden to the sea. The room was a treat, the layout was spacious with the out door balcony area (including sitting/sleeping area) was a nice touch. We did however nice quite a strong musty smell upon entering the room - this was remedied by switching off the aircon, switching on the fan and opening the doors and windows - after the first evening this ceased to be a problem. It has to be noted that the bathroom was not as clean as you would expect from a four star hotel. However these two minor points apart what a fantastic place to relax.
The buffet breakfast was of a high standard, offering a good range of high quality foods for all - plenty of pastries, cooked and continental options as well as Sri Lankian curries etc. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was an option to sit indoors or out - I would recommend trying to get one of the ocean side seats for a great view with your breakfast.
We also ate from the pool bar, which had a good amount of choice. The food was relatively tasty and not too expensive - we ordered (over a couple of days) chicken Cobb salad, Indian fusion, pepperoni pizza and chicken quesiduillas. Some times - some ingredients were missing - the salad had avocado one day and not the next. But nothing to get in a strop about. The staff were (again) friendly and attentive.
The pool was a good size and was nice and clean. There were plenty of loungers but be warned! There were quite a few early birds who snaffled loungers pre breakfast and then hardly sat on them all day (something that irks me because I like a lie in).
Although there was a 'swimming' beach - there is a better beach to the left of the hotel (facing towards the sea). While were there there were some excellent waves for surfing and boogie boarding - although I wouldn't

Larger room, large garden areas, access to beach
Large room, buffet breakfast

The hotel is fine, large room which have a sofa bed big enough for a child to sleep on. The cushions on this were really in need of a clean though, which was disappointing and not matching the 5 stars the hotel rates themselves. The pools are good depths, but were very warm - like a bath, so not very refreshing in the in heat! The baby pool is handy for youngsters, but also very warm. I would recommend getting as many meals included in your package as possible as there is only the buffet restaurant, or a seafood restaurant onsite (we're not seafood fans!). The buffet is expensive if you just turn up to eat, so try and include it. The pool bar has different snacks available, but also quite expensive. The air-conditioning works well, and the balcony was lovely for taking the kids onto or having a drink in the evening. Overall, a pleasant hotel and suitable for younger children.

Could not get the late check out. The hotel is full of little kids screaming, it is kind of big family hotel. Not recommended for people who want to get away for sometime.
