Located in the small fishing village of Hikkaduwa, the Citrus Hotel Hikkaduwa is about a two hour drive from Colombo on Sri Lanka's south coast. Couples United Kingdom, April 30, 2013	A 3 Star hotel which does what it says on the tin Large Room on high floor, Good size pool, Large variation in choices for breakfast, a manager by the name of Alex who is extremely helpful. 7.3 Our stay for three weeks at the hotel was satisfying to say the least but one must request a high floor to experience the views of the ocean. There was plenty of choices for breakfast everyday but one or two of the staff struggle to grasp the English language at breakfast. The gardens are maintained well and the pool staff do their jobs well. Our main point of contact was a supervisor called Alex who is Canadian he was extremely friendly and assisted in the language breakdown. The hotel is ideally situated on the beach but it is not advisable to swim directly in front of the hotel due to the coral and undercurrents go about 50 metres to the left as you get onto the beach from the hotel. This is a three star hotel do not expect a five star service. We will be staying again as this is ideally priced as a base and all you do is sleep and relax at the location.
