Friendly owner, spacious accommodation

Villa is located a little way from the main street but the area is quiet and safe. Owner was by friendly, gave me his contact card and offered to help arrange transport if needed, especially after dark. Thoughtful being as I am a solo female traveller. When I arrived, owner was cleaning the villa and this was done to a good standard. Accommodation was spacious and good value.
Thanks to the owner for his recommendations of places to go for myself and my friends.

Great apartment with helpful owner
Spacious and very clean apartment for self catering, very pleasant and quiet location

I visited in late March 2012 while touring Sri Lanka. I was delighted at the quality of the apartment but also the friendliness of Upali who ran the Villas. A slight drawback is that it is a few minutes walk away from the town of Hikkaduwa, certainly a bit stifling in heat, although I am assured that the road leading to the apartments will be upgraded in the near future. Late at night I would recommend paying 150 Sri Lankan rupees for a tuk-tuk to the gates, especially after a drink or two!
If you are travelling on a bit of a budget, but want to ensure you stay in high standard accomodation, self catering I can really recommend Utopia Villas
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Good access to the southern Sri Lankan city of Galle as well as water sports in Hikkaduwa itself.
