Beautiful setting/views. Very spacious double room with a high standard of accommodation. Great swimming pool. Good buffet with plenty of choice. Staff very friendly and very accommodating. Tuk tuk transfer to kandy town centre only 600 rupees. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

What a view!!

This hotel has to beat all others in the area for the view alone. The view of the mountains and Kandy city from our balcony and the breakfast terrace was incredible. On Sri Lanka standards this hotel is very nice with pleasant, but simple rooms. Staff were friendly throughout. Breakfast was good but the dinner buffet could have been better, but maybe that's just my taste. The journey up and down the hill from Kandy is a bit of a pain (especially in a tuktuk!) but you soon forget that when you're up in the peace and quiet of the hillside. Definitely recommend if you're heading to Kandy for a few days (but I wouldn't recommend staying longer than that)

Great view with a smile in a dated place

We stayed over Sinhalese New Year in a Deluxe room (110 Euro w/o breakfast incl. taxes!).
The welcome was very warm with a scented towel and a fruit drink.
The size of the room was okay, without calling it very spacious. The air conditioner and fan is controllable from the bed and works fine. The ceiling was with patches and needs a repaint.
The bathroom is definitely too tiny and if you have claustrophobia you can’t even enter it. Unfortunately sometimes a bad smell came from the bathroom towards the room. The tap-ware wasn’t fixed properly, but the water pressure and hot water were sufficient and allowed you to have a good shower.
The walls are a little bit thin and so you can hear your neighbors if they are a little bit noisy.
The scenery and the view from the balcony is the best thing about it and is really impressive.
Room service is very limited with 6 main courses.
The Wifi worked one day, the other day it didn’t connect!
The hotel offers Spa (chargeable from 15 till 52 Euro), swimming pool, pool table, gym and a squash court. We didn’t try out these things, cos we were traveling most of the time.
The dinner buffet (18 Euro) had a wide range of selection and the quality was above average.
Overall the hotel is clean, but a little bit dated.
The staff was during the whole stay very friendly, but we felt also a little bit inefficient. We tried to confirm our booking but they nver called back and also to organize a babysitter for 90 minutes while having dinner took us about 6 calls each time. But here we also have to give them credit, because the second night they really tried to organize a person. Furthermore the staff tried to answer our particular requests, as for example a late check out, with a smile. Moreover the hotel didn’t charge twice toast bread and once pasta for our small one!
Travel tips: Elephant orphanage in Pinnawala, Udawatte Kele Sanctuary (Rain Forrest in Kandy) and Botanic Garden in Kandy.
