Comfortable Stay
friendly helpful staff, clean comfortable room, opportunity to meet other travelers

Staff was very helpful. Short walk from hotel down to the lakeside where you can walk to the town center (20 minutes) or take a local bus. Hotel gives you use of a small pool that is part of an apartment they own which is a few blocks from the hotel itself.

Lovely location, relaxed place to stay but . . .

This guest house would have been perfect. It's in a lovely position, a short walk or tuk-tuk ride from the town. It has en-suite shower-rooms, comfortable beds with clean sheets and towels, a fan and/or air-conditioning, decent mosquito nets, an outdoor seating area with tables and chairs and the price seemed very reasonable. However, the rooms really need a good scrub: the bathrooms and bedrooms are grimy and only superficially cleaned. And room 3 is quite dark and smelt damp- the other rooms seemed better. With a good cleaning regime and routine maintenance, this could be an excellent place to stay. Also, wardrobes would be really useful.

Good people, great deal

We were a bit worried about distance from town, but we shouldn't have been: it's a pleasant walk downhill to the lake and a short tuk-tuk back.
Really great people and good common parts, but the bathroom was a bit of a let-down.
Still, all-in-all a very good place and at a good price.

We stayed here for 3 days 2 nights, at the first day when we arrived, we had a hard time to find out the location of this guesthouse, because it is actually located on the mountain (not that "mountain" mountain).
Room is clean, bathroom is clean as well. The guesthouse itself is really homey.
They also have a swimming pool, and the staff was really nice, Coz there was one guy cleaned it first before we came.(maybe not a lot of people swimming there I guess)
Chanaka who is the staff there, we talked a lot and he shared lots of information about sri lanka, which is really helpful.
anyway we really had a great time here.
Restaurant Tip:
walk down from the guesthouse, there is a local cafe called The Garden Cafè, they serve local food with a very cheap price.
Must have a try. Korthu Roti is my favourite. The Hoppers taste good as well, its like Sri Lankan's Pancake.

We would have stayed longer as we loved the peaceful location but the room wasn't cleaned daily nor were there supplies in the room for us to clean, so when all the dishes were dirty and garbage cans full we checked into another note. The food at this hotel was barely edible.

This place is ok, but it is a little way from town so you will need to be prepared to walk up the hills or take a rickshaw. There is very little to choose from in terms of restaurants nearby.

helpful, good hospitality and active staff

I got better room which is family room because double bedroom were not available. The room is clean ,big with furniture. Although I found the cockroach, the staff immediately catch it. Bathroom is wet alltime but the staff come to clean and clear the problem. All staff are excellent and made me have a nice stay.
