The hotel was nice, good clean room with decent bathroom and in a good location near the lake. The breakfast was delicious and huge! As a solo traveler it's not a place where you can really meet anyone but that is the case for basically the whole country as a lot of couples and families go to Sri Lanka, there's no hostels, and in March it's very quiet.

My experience in staying at hotel amanda hills was actually quite horrible. We travelled in a group of 5, 3 in a room and 2 in the other. The room for 3 people was very dirty, beds were infested with bugs, and the toilet was full of ants. We did not use the toilet bowl at all as it was VERY VERY dirty and full of ants. The room size was acceptable for three people but i would definitely not stay in this hotel a second time. If you are looking for a stay in Kandy, Hotel Amanda Hills is certainly not the hotel for you.

Great choice - spotlessly clean - excellent food

We're so pleased we chose to stay here as it is in an excellent location & we had a lovely clean room & the food was excellent too. Jude (the owner) was very helpful too. At night they have live music in the restaurant - lovely 3 piece band with easy to listen to music. You couldn't go past this place as it is certainly value for money & everything you'd need for your stay.

This is a small hotel but very comfortable. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Food is good and Jude's Pork Curry is delicious.
The hotel is located close to Kandy town but the road up the hill is an adventure. Bring the hotel business card so that the tuk tuk driver will know where to go.
The value for money at Amanda Hills is excellent.
