I found this hotel to be comfotable and and well located in the centre of Kandy. The staff were very attentive and took good care of us. The stair well on the higher floors have no railings and care should be taken. Overall I was very happy with my stay and would stay here again.

I have a good experience at Casamala hotel. It's close to temple of Relic Buddha. It's very convenience to walk around the city and shopping area.Room is very nice and comfortable.

there are no really good hotels in city center, this one was quite good. Close to all point of interests. Restaurant is rather average. Indian restaurant 200m from hotel isn't really good.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Two star in European terms. Rather nothing to really comply. Nice location.

Newly refurbished hotel in centre

I had read that the hotel was still under constuction in November 2012. When we arrived the builders were just finishing their work inside and outside the hotel. There was only another couple staying at the same time so we got a choice of rooms which I guess will be execptional though.
The room in which we stayed was not only nice but also big but only because we were able to choose due to circumstances. It had an extra section for luggage separated from the rest of the room with swinging doors.
The whole hotel has wooden floor laminating and a roof-too bar with a view over the centre which should be tried out and the swimming pool was surprisingly nice.
One day we wanted to rent a taxi for a day to go north and the staff seemed a bit reluctant to help us so we ended up calling the number which they had given us. The next day there were different people who were more helpful with questions that we had.
Overall, I would reccomend this hotel as the construction work is done and out came a nice and quiet hotel in the centre of Kandy.

The hotel is under renovation, but that did not bother us as we just spent a night at the hotel. The room is pleasant, and the hotel staff is very friendly.
As we need to catch a train to Colombo the next day at 6.10am, they even have our breakfast ready packed by 5am!
The location is right in the town centre. Just 10 min walk to the railway station. Banks/KFC/supermarket are right across the road.
Nightlife Tip:
The cultural dance at 5.30pm at a neighboring hall across the lake is a must if you wish to get a taste of the local culture. Entrance fee at LKR500 was a good deal. However, they still expect a tip as you leave the hall after the show.
