Amazing room, amazing view
gorgeous luxury room on top floor, lovely views of town, good food, nice staff

Hotel new, great lux room, helpful nice staff. But if you dine late, the Restaurant has limited menu items to choose from. Keep windows and balcony doors closed or monkeys will enter!! All new hotels are located high up the south side of the lake but tuk tuk is only 250 ruppees from town. We stayed 2 nights then 2 notes at Thelanka on north side.

I was not able to relax at this hotel because the staff kept calling (even woke me up to only to say that I missed breakfast). They kept knocking at the door for various reason (they forgot something etc). Very disturbing. Stopped serving breakfast at 9 and drinks at 10 in the evening. Minibar locked on arrival. Screeming neighbour children and building site next door. No safetybox. No hairdryer. Unfriendly staff

taster all the family style hotels in sri lanka, this is the only modern hotel we booked. it was on a small hill and pretty near to the place for kandy dance. the room was clean and standard. we loved the breakfast since the dining place had an awesome mountain view and the home-made yogurt surprised us a lot! the staff were pretty professional as i lost my makeup bag in the room after i checked out and they calledy driver immediately for notification. after i returned, they made a list of what they got and asked me to sign to make sure they were properly handovered. the only flaw was that they don't have enough adapters for lending but that was not a big deal.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
kandy dance and temple of tooth are the must. we hired a tourist guide for te temple and it costed us 1000lkr.

The hotel is very beautiful. Rooms are comfortable. Our family had booked three rooms, of these only one room 512 was facing behind - the room had continuous foul smell from the drainage. Earlier we did not notice it due to the room freshner, but it was consistent.
However the other two rooms were gorgeous. They were clean and spacious. My parents and family were very happy with the stay.
Somehow the hotel does not provide for hand towels which is surprising.
Overall good stay - recommend to check the rooms - washroom before finalising on the room

Do not book room no. 512 - any room facing the back - there is foul smell that the hotel cannot do anything about

We had booked 3 rooms - apart from room. no. 512, both the other rooms were pretty nice. The only problem with 512 was the foul smell but was enough to put us down.
The hotel staff tried helping us by giving us another room on a different floor - but we did not take it as we would have been far from the rest of our family.
Not much to do at the hotel - you should rather go out and explore Kandy.
Overall happy with the stay.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Pls. avoid room 512 (or similar facing rooms) as there was a continuous bad smell throughout the stay.

we didnt like any thing on the hotel

very bad hotel , rooms are not sealed so it alow insects to enter to the rooms , ants on the bathroom , insects on the bed.
at night the electricity was cutting several times( they claim that the generator is stopping because of the rain ).
breakfast is very poor.
WIFI is free but is useless , because it's very slow and you have to wait long time until single web page open.
in general it was a nightmare and we were very happy when we left the hotel

The hotel was new and spotless. The breakfast and dinner buffet was delicious. I loved the air conditioner and wi-fi in the room.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The hotel is on the hill but very suitable walk down to the lake in Kandy.

The only place that you can sit is your room or dinning room, No pool, No Gardens to sit in and relax to read, well outside of Kandy, the road is to dangerous to walk on and very noisy if room is at the front of hotel and back rooms overlook a school that starts swimming lessons at 7-00 am which comees with plenty of whistle blowing. Not advisable to sit on your balcony because you will be a target for the monkeys

This hotel did not really represent great value for money. The room appeared very bare. There were no toiletries and no hair dryer. The food in the restaurant was really good and value for money, the staff were very helpful.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
A trip to the Tooth Temple is well worth a visit.

Overall a nice place to stay. One disappointing moment when staff member acquired T20 tickets for me and charged 4 times the going rate. Luckily my driver complained and my money was returned
