beautiful rooms overlooking Kandy
7.7
Excellent accommodations, wonderful staff. A little off the beaten path. Rooms are a bit pricey and we ate elsewhere as the restaurant (though rated very high) was extremely expensive. The rooms are beautiful and the staff fabulous, but we found it a bit over priced.

Overpriced boutique hotel
5.7
I booked this hotel based on the review. However, to my disappointment, this is just an overpriced boutique hotel.
They show us to our room and it was very nice looking. We loved our view, the room deco is pretty. However, slowly we were beginning to feel disappointed..
First, they told us that due to the heavy downpour, the cable tv is not working; and we can watch dvd instead. However, the DVD machine is not working as well. As all the rooms are occupied, we couldn't change room. Nor did they provide any complementary items to compensate for the lack of entertainment.
Then after our long day of travel, we were looking forward to a nice warm shower, only to find out that there is no hot water, and we had to wait for 6 hours for the water heater to heat up??? So we had to bathe in cold water.
Overall, we didnt have a great experience in this hotel. For the price we paid , we expect there to be at least hot water to take a shower in.

Fantastic Hospitality, questionable quality
The staff was extremely helpful and accomodating to every need, genuinely nice people

My husband and I are Americans and we have travelled all over the world. The overall stay was quite plesant but we were dissapointed with the overall quality of the hotel. They are rated a 5 star hotel but by American standards they were probably a 3 star property. While it is well maintained, the property looked dated and needed refurbishing, time for new tiles, new furniture and new towels.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The Pinnewalla Elephant Orphanage is a MUST DO, so was the Tooth temple.
